LCD TV randomly cycles through viewing modes

My new Samsung LNS2652 26" LCD TV randomly cycles through viewing modes. After roughly 20 minutes of viewing, the viewing mode switches to the next mode. For example, if I am watching in 4:3 mode, after some time (about 20mins) it will switch to 16:9. Or if I am in 16:9, it will switch to Zoom 1, or if I am in Zoom 2, it will go to 4:3. This happens regardless of where the input signal is coming from (ie- Component In from our DVD player or just the yellow Video Input) Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

You could also check your controler..some controlers will do strange things as the battery is about to go out. a recently wet controller will also make circuits act up in the controler and hence..cause things to be changed on your tv. try this..turn your tv on.. hide your controller under a pillow in a very far away area from the tv..see if things change..if not. do what the man snakehead time. .

Look for setup in the menu . See if it is set to store or demo mode. Does it do this on all sources? have you connected any new devices? Go to Samsung web sight and look for software upgrade for this model. Model and version number are on back side of set. If none of these things work replace the main board.

Try cycling through all of the av modes by pressing the av mode button on your remote to see if you like movie or standard. You are most likely in av mode dynamic fixed at the moment.

The TV wont come on at all, the power source is good The model # is DP19648 Sanyo Is there a reset button on TV?

d cooper, Because your unit is small screen type, You should visit YOUTUBE and view video clips of cold cathode fluorescent lamp back-lit lcd computer monitors being repaired. Your unit is subject to the same type of internal "switch-mode-power-supply/CCFL inverter ballast" circuit problems as are lcd monitors. Search terms at youtube are: "lcd monitor disassembly" and "lcd monitor repair" Then look for and view lcd tv repair video clips. Inspect your unit for "bad" (failed) electrolytic filter capacitors on the AC to DC switch mode multiple output power supply board. May have "open" fuse inside near or on the smps board. If "open fuse" the next question is why??? 12fixlouie

tomlyndlevjo, Possible failure of internal "switch-mode-power-supply" board in tv. Remote not bad or intermittant!!! SMPS board is detecting "fault condition" and goes into "shutdown mode" to try and "save itself" from catastrophic, nonrecoverable failure. e.g. sparks, smoke, fire!!! If warranty no longer valid option for you, then you or qualified electronics technician will need to investigate SMPS board to find cause as to why SMPS cycles in/out of "shutdown mode" 12fixlouie

Samsung Remote Control not working

any samsung remote will work any samsung television. Samsung use the same code for all television's as do Sony

Samsung remotes are quite expensive you could always buy a Sky digibox remote and tune that in to work you tv that would be a cheaper option.

how to tune in the sky remote to work your samsung tv

RED + SELECT ( blinks twice)

Job done

Hope this helps you out.

Tv switches itself off then back on again

If the tv set is still under warantee get it sorted before gtee runs out.

The problem is caused by cummunication error between ATV Micom and DTV Micom.

To correct this problem requires going in to service mode to make changes & updating the DTV firmware.

This will need to be done by a proffesional.
