My printer stopped working about four months ago but I never really came around to fixing it until about three weeks ago i tried to fix it and so I ran the test that tells me to turn off the printer and press the inc button. After doing as told the test showed that the print heads needed to be cleared then i cleared them and it still did not work. So I let it rest and today I tried doing exactly what the book said but it did not work nothing came out not even the paper went through. I have the EPSON STYLUS CX4600

First of all, for financial reasons you don't use a color printer. Unless you print graphs. Second of all, this is a laser printer, it doesn't use ink. Third, all four toner cartridges must be inserted and working in order to print in any color.
Go back and read the "First of all" again and buy a B and W laser printer.
You should run a "clean printer cartridge". You should be able to access the clean cartridge feature by going to windows control panel...selecting printers...then right clicking on your printer. Select properties...then dig around until you find the maintenence or clean head option.
Hi there You can try not really know but it like your waste ink needs to be reset.
Start with the printer OFF
1. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER 2. Release RESUME 3. Press RESUME twice, then release POWER 4. Wait until print head stops moving 5. Press RESUME four times (if four doesn't work try three times) 6. Press POWER once 7. Press RESUME four times (if four doesn't work try three times) 8. Press POWER once
Repeating the RESUME/POWER code twice made the difference, the fixes I found wouldn't work because they stopped at step 6.
the wire strip that connects to the printing cartrige is probably brole or just comming out of its plug
try to push the wire strip back in and see if that does any good , if not then there is a problem inside of the printer
the wire strip is broke or comming unpugged or the detection circut that sees the cartriges has failed and needs repair
hope that helps!
if you still have the software completely uninstall the software and drivers and reinstall. go to the hp website and see if there is any updated or fixes for your specific printer. let me know how it works out for you.
I too have just bought a 2nd hand printer (Tally T8006) that also worked well until the fuser oil seemingly has to 'swamped' everywhere and which now throws up the same error code as above. Will attempt to 'dry it out' and see if the code clears. Have also recently sourced an original installation CD, will check out fault codes when it arrives - Gazz
My IP4200 started doing this about a week ago it tells me I have two Cyan cartridges.
I don't, cartridges are canon cartridges and were changed four months ago worked fine until now.
Pressing the middle button the resume button is working eventually, so far, but I don't know for how long.
Seems like a hardware problem as I deleted and reinstalled the software no difference and everything worked fine for the first four months.
