How to change the bottom door seal on a Westinghouse SB907

I can't see how to remove the old broken seal and put in the new one. The spare parts place said to unscrew the door panel. This seemed sensible so I opened the door and proceeded to remove the screws on the inside of the door, hoping the panel would give some room to get access to the seal. Instead the front white panel began to separate but I still could not get access. Do you need to unscrew the door from its hinges?

SOURCE: Westinghouse SB907 - Water draining out right after filling up

The drain hose has to have a loop in it. In other words as the drain hose exits the dishwasher, it must go up at least 18 inches before it goes down into the drain. If not, the water will siphon out of the machine.

Hi All,
Great web-sitevery useful. To add, my SB907 has same problem - not heating. Found no open/short circuit in heater - found this forum - followed through with removal of circuit board and ... BINGO ! Dirty big black burn mark under relay ! Am now wondering if I can "just replace relay"... any thoughts? Thanks Rick

How can I fit a bottom door seal on a Brandt dishwasher please. My dishwasher is leaking but the door seal and gaskets are intact although the sealant which held the gaskets in place has disintegrated....

Hello,
If the bottom seal is definitely worn then it is quite a simple job.The seal is just pushed into a groove at the bottom of the door,as you pull the old one out be very careful as the edge of the groove is like a knife edge, the new seal will push in gently starting from one end and keep pushing into the groove try not to stretch the seal in length.Another thing to check first is check the bottom spray arm for splits on the edges as this could be directing the water onto the door,if there are splits then the arm will need replacing.

Hope this helps.

Undo the top two screws on each side of the back of the door and all the ones across the top edge. Then the panel can be manouvered away from the door. The catch mechanism tends to hold the panel back and there is only just enough free length on the wiring to pull the panel away a couple of inches, but it's enough to access the on/off switch and control module.

Miele G858 Icognito replace bottom door seal...how to remove door

Kelly --

Since you wrote your question 13 months ago, I'm guessing the problem is solved. Still, for others experiencing the same issue, here's my answer.

We also experienced leaking on our Miele 858 Incognito dishwasher and were able to replace the bottom door seal (today) without removing the door.

First, call the Miele Parts Dept @ 800-999-1360 to place an order for the door seal, which is part #3920725.

Remove the defective seal by loosening the four screws at the bottom of the door. Pull the black rubber seal out and discard. Install the new part in the same spot (underneath the green flange). Tighten the screws and you'll be in business.

Replace bottom door seal on Dishlex Global 300 Dishwasher - Model DX300SA

HI - i just replaced the bottom seal yesterday. The guy at the spares shop advised me to replace both (bottom of door and bigger seal ) at the same time to ensure no leaks - i did that. The bottom door seal come out when you unscrew the screws - (No need to remove door) and because of all the gunk (from years of washing and age of the rubber) i had to wedge a blunt knife in between (starting at one of the ends) and lever it out - MAKE SURE YOU TAKE NOTE OF THE WAY IT IS BEFORE YOU REMOVE IT! An easy way to remember is there is a nick in the rubber of the old (and new) seal and as it is not centred, just note if the nick is closer to the left or right of the machine, I have replaced mine and there is a little leak and now i wonder if i put the seal in upside down! it has to go in the same way - before you gimmy your's out can you tell me if the nick in the rubber is to the left or right? (LIZ at yodelayeeoo@gmail.com) If I have put in back right there is a chance the screw didn't go through the plastic part of the seal and therefore not holding it in place properly. GOOD LUCK! Don't worry about having to really work at getting the old seal out - you don't need it anymore and i didn't damage mine, regards, Liz

Frigidaire Dishwasher Leaking

I just found a service release number for my Frigidaire dishwasher that says it applies to Serial numbers TH632 through serial number TH737 made in 2007 for a replacement kit for the door seal at the bottom of the door. The bottom door seal has been changed, adding side seals that restrict the water surge from the center spray arm. The part number for the new seal is p/n 154588201. This seal can be replaced without removing the dishwasher or either of the door panels.
The seal is located on the bottom of the inner door panel and appears as a cream colored flexible
rubber blade bonded to a milky white colored plastic strip. To remove and properly install
replacement follow the instructions carefully.
1. Replacing this seal can be accomplished without disconnecting power from the unit.
Always use extra care when electrical power is present while serving an appliance.
2. Open door all the way down and remove lower rack. Set rack aside to a safe location.
3. Locate the seal on the bottom of inner door panel. Facing front of unit, the right side of the
seal can be pulled down slightly to facilitate removal.
4. Pull seal straight into the tub from right side.
5. With seal removed, and before installing replacement seal, locate the channel in inner door
panel that the seal mounts into. Locating this channel before installing the replacement can
make this procedure easier.
SERVICE FLASH

6. Place the new seal on a flat surface and measure from the bottom of the seal, (See Figure
1 to determine bottom of seal), up 3/8 "of an inch and place a mark with a pen or marker on
both ends (See Figure 2). If needed, scribe a straight line between these two marks this
will give you a guide when installing seal into the inner door panel.
7. The seal can only be installed one way. The end that holds this seal into the inner door
panel has a ½ inch notch cut in the right side. This notch allows the seal to be installed
around the end of the inner door channel that holds the seal.
8. Line up the seal along the bottom of the inner door panel and start from the right side, push
the seal into the door channel to the line marked in step #6.
9. With seal in place close the door, the tub will align the seal as needed.
10. Reinstall lower rack and operate unit to check for leaks.
If leaks continue to occur at the bottom corners, order Splash shield kit 154701001 for
dishwasher.

Before installing the kit remove and reinstall the lower door seal. To install the lower seal make
sure you measure up from the bottom of the seal 3/8 of an inch and mark the seal, do this on
both ends. This locates how far down the seal needs to be before closing the door. Do not
install this seal without measuring it first. After the lower door seal has been re-installed then
install the splash shields according to the instructions accompanying with the kit.
