It has started happening often now. Some days many times. While working suddenly the screen goes blank and it does not respond to any key only by shutting it down. Sometimes it won't start again. The light will turn on but the computer screen remains black. Then I need to press the power key for 10 seconds and start it again.

Re: my toshiba m35x-s111 laptop screen goes blank
According to the description of the fault and the symptoms that your equipment presents, you must replace the FL inverter, that is the one that gives the turn on of the screen of your equipment, if your you replace this piece that one finds behind of the mask of the screen in the low part and that is similar to a pen I assure you that your equipment it was working in perfect conditions

toshiba satellite M35X-S111
After solving the jack problem. when I click on the start button I hear the fan voise but there is nothing on the moniter and no sound. When I remove the connection between the start button and the mother board and put it again it works two times and then the problem started again. The computer may work random at sometimes.
Is the problem in the small board and the cable which between the start button and the mother board ? If yes how to purchase it
there was a massive recall on these laptops years ago entailing that the mother board be replaced. unfortunately that is gone and passed. this is a problem with every m35x and most honest repair facilities shy away from those repairs due to the likelihood of the machine failing again.
http://www.irisvista.com/tech/ Be very careful and make sure you have a good working surface. NO STATIC. The power connections on the Toshiba is the only flaw on the Toshiba systems. You can get the new piece from Ebay for around $5. Just be very careful on working with the solder. Do not apply too much heat. The power connector is located near other intergrated components that are sensitive. Good Luck.
yes. normaly fan switched on automaticaly when the microprocessor warm up. inyour case some time the sensing of microprocessor and fen contorler had the problem .however you open your laptop and trying blow up with the vacum cleaner to do clean dust deposited inside your laptop mostly it will help to slove your problem.
trying up to your satisfaction.
I believe that the syptoms you are experiencing include the power button lighting up during start up and the fan cycling for 5 seconds, but no other activity. There may or may not be a series of audible "beeps". A CD will come up to speed, but will not load. I have had this happen three times with my M35X-S111 due to it not being able to recognize the RAM. The first two times, I re-seated the RAM and it successfully booted. The third time, I reseated the RAM 50+ times with it only successfully booting once. The slot that holds the RAM cards does make a good electrical contact with the cards. Since the RAM holder is integral to a card, you cannot replace it with a "generic" holder, instead, you have to replace the entire card. I discarded my Toshiba after that third failure.
