If there is a short circuit inside the TV, the fuse should normally blow first before tripping your breaker. The only exception is if you have a short in the ac cord or the line filter of the TV set. Have you tried the tv on another circuit to see if it trips that breaker? If not, it could be that your first circuit is close to an overload and the TV is simply pushing the circuit "over the edge".

SOURCE: I have a panasonic TH-C42HD18.

Normal reset procedure is to leave the television unplugged anywhere from a half hour to 24 hours depending on the model. However, you are not mentioning the use of a surge protector and if you weren't using one you may have fried your TV due to the surge.

SOURCE: Sony Bravia LCD TV is tripping the fuse in the house

These things draw a huge surge current when turned on. What size fuse are you blowing? These things can surge 10-12 amps on turn-on. What about a fuse with a reset button. They will take alittle more surge before they go. Don't matter about the insignia working before because the cheaper sets tend to stay powered up more when off....thus not surging on from a dead start. Could you try a different plug on a different circuit/fuse? and see if that makes a difference. If you have a 15 amp fuse, then your pretty close with other stuff plugged in. What size is your service? Do you still have an original 60 amp box with screw in fuses? Is it an old house?

When it comes to home electrical make sure that when you plug into a electrical socket that the plug is tight in the socket. If the plug is not tight in the socket, have the socket replaced with a new socket.worn out sockets can trip breakers, throw sparks and cause fires.

Why is my washing machine tripping my main fuse box even when I change the plug socket

by "tripping main fuse" do you mean the high amp (eg 60 amp or 100 amp) fuse that feeds the whole fuse box? if that is the case, there is too much stuff on in your house that's drawing power. The fuse box is too small to power all the stuff you have plugged in and running. Suggest turning off other high draw appliances in the house, like large TVs or microwaves or air conditioners, when running the washing machine.

The trip breaker in my home for the electrical outlet keep tripping off what do i do. the breaker in my electircal box for my electrical socket keep tripping off

go to the qualified electricians on your place... but there is some helpful tips that can help you.. (1) for continued protection before starting. turn off the main circuit breaker. (2) unplug all the appliances or equipment installed... (3) check all the wall socket outlet... look for any damages on the wall socket... if the wall socket outlet have no signs of burned or wet marked, try to turn on the circuit breaker. check if the problem is solved.. (4) if the wall socket outlet have a signs of burned or wet marked.. just replace that w/ the same type of socket... check also the appliances that may caused the problem... the easiest way to know is to look at the socket plug itself... ty

I unplugged tv to move it across the room now it wont turn back on??

POE:
  1. Connect tv directly to socket without any powerboards and make sure the power cord is properly inserted (if it works than any powerboard you have been using is probably faulty)
  2. Try a different power cord
  3. See if socket is dead using another appliance. If another appliance works then the Tv is probably damaged (refer to warranty if applicable)
  4. if other appliances don't work in that socket check your fuse box.
  5. If fuse box is fine then try a different socket (if it works you may need to get an experienced person to fix the socket your trying to plug the tv into)

Wont power on

You need to check the mains (cable and the socket voltage). Check the availability of the main supply either with the voltmeter (if you have) or plug any other thing like table lamp or any electric appliance for conformation of desired voltage. If voltage is there and still TV is not Switching ON then check the cable itself. For this, you check the plug itself. To check the cable you have to remove the cover and then check main fuse too.
(IT REQUIRES TECHNICAL SKILLS)
If you are not a technical person, get it done with some technician near you.
Hope, it will either FIX or help to fix the issue.

good luck
