I connected my dell speakers to an acer computer, not working

My sisters acer speakers died so I plugged in my dell speakers but can not get them to work. No sound. The speakers are all plugged in and there is static there so they are on but no music will play.

Perhaps the speaker isn't compatible with your laptop sound card or driver...or just try to download the same sound driver your sister laptop has and install it in yours note make sure you have a back-up of your sound driver before you install the other driver..I hope it will help you..

Have a dell computer with acer plug in speakers which are not playing or showing as being connected, don't have a disk for the speakers is there somewhere i can download the information i need, speakers...

Try connecting the speakers to a different computer, to see if the speakers work at all.

It's 100% "normal" for the speakers to *NOT* be "detected" by the computer -- the speakers simply are _NOT_ a "plug-and-play" device; there are just "dumb" electro-mechanical units.

There _never_ is a need for a "disk" for speakers;
you never need instructions on how to use a pencil, either. :-)

Have windows 7 on my new acer aspire 5517; trying to get external speakers (2 different kinds) to work. my generic usb speakers install and it shows they're working properly, but errors when trying to play...

what happens when you plug the speakers in the green port? You might want to try the other audio ports because on a few new computers i have seen the speakers have to be plugged in a different hole. also make sure the speakers are plugged up to the electric plug.

I have an acer cpu connected to my hp monitor with built in speakers...but I have no sound?

That is a common problem. You need to purchase some new speakers from your local Radio Shack or computer store.Plug them into your cpu. Very cheap fix about $10. The mix and match connection of the HP and Acer never seems to work. The HP monitor will work with the Hp computers but not others.

Connecting speakers to Computer

In most cases the woofer plugs into the speaker which contains the power adapter plug, the green plug goes into the PC's audio out (usually a green plug on the back of the unit). When the USB is plugged into the machine the OS should plug and play the new hardware and may ask you to insert a driver disc if applicable.

After the OS has identified the new hardware and installed it you should be able to test additional audio out plugs if you are unable to hear sound from your first choice (again, ideally the green plug). There should also be a line out plug which may work for your purposes also.

If you are still having issues please post the model of your speakers so that we may look them up...
