My Garmin 305 will not turn on. Battery will not charge nor indicate anything on screen. Will a replacement battery correct this problem? Where can I get it repaired near zip #23502?

Probably it's not linked to battery. Try resetting device (see on garmin support how to do holding mode&reset buttons).

Myself I can restart it if applying this, but it restarts only once, always same procedure needed to make it start.

Garmin Forerunner 305 won't turn on and won't charge. Is there a fix or is this it for the device?

Look at

You can soft reset or hard reset the device. Hard reset deletes all data.

Garmin 305 forerunner

you can't. If it is getting softer and softer the speaker may be on it's way out.

See this link for a possible reason (bottom of the page).

I have the forerunner 305 - it is not taking a charge and won't turn on??? I have only used it 4 or 5 times

Plug in the garmin to the wall.
Hold down the reset and mode buttons for 3 seconds.
Try to turn it on or look for the "charing in process" words.

My Garmin forerunner 305 will not turn on.

I have had the same problem. To fix it, I simultaneously hold down the "mode" and "reset" buttons for about 10 seconds. After releasing the buttons I power it up as normal. This has worked both times it has happened, and I got this fix from the Garmin website. My mileage totals are still in the history.

Garmin Forerunner 305 usb cable won't be read

The problem is probably not with the USB cable if the GPS wont even turn on. The older firmware of the Forerunner 205 and 305 have a problem with locking up. This causes the Forerunner to look completely dead. There is a reset procedure: push the mode and reset button at the same time and then let go and hit the power on button. If it powers on that is the problem. Go to the Garmin site and load the newest rev. of firmware into the Forerunner. Fixed mine and a few friends with the same problem.

I do however have a cable problem. Sometimes my PC will come up with unrecognized USB device and my 305 wont talk to the PC, it does charge. It is the cable or dock for sure, because I have tried a different cable/dock and the 305 has no problem. This is the reason I ended up here. I hope the lock fix works for those with the above problem.
