PowerDVD 5.0 are not open in my pc

every copy of cyberlink powerdvd cd has it own key
so the other keys of this software will not work on your cd copy

You need Cyberlink PowerDVD software to run a BlueRay Disk. Normally, in Acer computer you should have Cyberlink PowerDVD software, please open the software and follow the below mentioned steps

To update the Cyberlink PowerDVD software:

1. Connect to the Internet.
2. Open the Cyberlink Power DVD application.
3. Click the arrow in the upper left hand corner of the window next to Cyberlink PowerDVD.
4. Click on Update Now
5. Follow the prompts to install the update.

Note: The update process may have to be repeated more than once to ensure the latest version is loaded on the computer.
Reminder: Blu-ray protection software prevents Blu-ray movies from being displayed on both the notebook LCD and an external monitor at the same time.

This is will take care of the issue

Try re-installing it some files may be corrupted

Use "OPEN NERO" setup for DVD play

I have experienced nothing but heartache with PowerDVD... from a software standpoint, I would suggest using a different app all together (PowerDVD takes up so much RAM, and not very user friendly) Have you tried using the simple Windows Media Player? Download and install the K-Lite Codec pack first (I understand you are wanting to view from disks, but it can't hurt to have all codecs up-to-date), which will handle almost any format that comes your way (you can find the free download here:

If the hardware is new, uninstall the drivers and instead of using the provided software (which may be the problem) simply allow Windows to discover new hardware, and install a basic driver for you. You can then go to Window's Update and update the hardware driver to-date.

The result should be a functioning drive, with a functioning app to view with :)

If you are interested in also burning, keep in mind to keep the optics clean, and their are PLENTY of better apps than PowerDVD out there (DVDFab is one of the best for ease of use to burn custom or entire disks).

When i click on my Powerdvd dx the program will not open. It will not also play on my windows media. Can you please help me fix this problem?

i lost my key card code for my cyberlink powerdvd 6 but i need the good version not the deluxe

what is your system?
also try to browse to the dvd under my comp,right click,and open with power dvd.
also power may not work with vista.
ALSO check to see if you selected a region code for the dvd deck in it's properties!

ive used power dvd in all my xp-setups without a prob!
