Touch pad scroll is not working - Computers & Internet

    Hello,

I have the same problem on a CF-37 Toughbook model.

The scroll on the touchpad doesn't work.

I have recently upgraded the original

windows 98se os system to windows xp pro sp3.

Now my scroll on the touchpad doesn't respond.

I think I lost a driver or corrupted a file during the upgrade.

Any info I would definitely appreciate.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi.

I need more information in order to assist you.

Like what is the model of the laptop in which you need assistance with.

If it's just certain programs which it does not work with.

Or is it not working in general?

Let me know and I can assist you further.

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Mouse -> and look for the settings under the tabs. your mouse driver might be the last tab and it should be in there

Let Me Know :)

I accidentally disabled the driver from starting automatically when the computer boots. When I went to Mouse from control panel it asked me if I wanted to install the drivers, which I did. When I rebooted the scroll area worked again.

Touch pad scrolling not working

Connect an external mouse and see if there is any issue . If so the pad can be faulty on the PC. Please restore the PC and reinstall the drivers. If not you will need to check the touch pad circuit and clean the scroll button contacts.

I recently deleted some old files and temp files to free up disc space and when i rebooted, the scroll on the right side of the mouse pad is not working the buttons are and the double click function is too...

Hi,
The files in temp folder can be safely deleted and have nothing to do with touch pad atleast. Something else might have gone wrong. Just check from the Device Manager or Control Pannel that the drivers for touch pad are installed. If so, check for the scroll option (synaptics touch pad utility) and set it accordingly.
If it doesn't work, you may download and reinstall the touch pad drivers again from the manufacturers support site.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Touch pad

If you have the drivers for the touchpad installed then you should be able to run your finger up or down the right hand side of the touch pad and have it scroll the page you are one.

If it doesn't work then you may need to either reinstall the drivers or find the program that handles the touch pad settings (usually found in program files) and turn the scrolling feature back on.

Hope that helps :)

Touch pad issues

Next time you try scrolling on the touch pad, also push down (really) hard on the touch pad(kind of like you're squeezing the player). Keep doing this, and you may get it working. I've dropped mine a few times, and this push/squeeze/scroll seemed to work.
