Please make sure that the photo files are in the root directory of the memory photoframe (ie, not within a folder).  That they are in a readable file format (.jpg) Check to see that the frame is reading from the internal memory and not the card slot.

How do I retrieve lost files from it?

1. Stop write anything to your coby player, otherwise you will re-write the files and permanently loose your important data.
2. Use some data recovery software like this one. My friends recommend it to me, it works pretty well. And then scan your coby player with the program, set a destination folder (folder where recovered files will be saved) somewhere on your computer. When the scan was finished, it will return a file list, you can choose the files you want to recover.

Ext sd card

Turn off the device and remove the ext sd card.
Turn the device back on and go to the settings and do a factory reset.
Turn off the device again, re-insert your card, and then check to see if your other media is playable.
Are you sure that all of the songs on the SD card are in mp3 format?

SD Card Full

When you install a larger SD card it will be a fresh empty memory card. Your existing 8Gb SD card will still have the the 5 hour gig data on it.
You can insert the 8Gb SD memory card into an USB memory card reader and plug this into the USB port on your computer. The computer will see this SD memory card and adapter as an external storage device. You can then open the audio folder on theis SD memory card and copy this file to your computer.
