Question about Sony Handycam DCR-PC109 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
The slot were the mini DV goes doesnt want to close its stuck in the out position and wont go down. The camcorder turns on and all the buttons work. The slot wont go down and close so i basicly i cant use it. i havent dropped it or anything. I think it happen the last time i used it and the battery died, i charged it and connected it straight to it but nothing? hope you can help thanks...

the flex wire of the lcd monitor is already cut ...go the service center for replacement of the flex wire...or to the other service center for fixing the flex wire...it is to difficult to fix the wire if you are not a technician cause that wire is like a strand of hair....

If you had it working before consider yourself one of the lucky ones. Vista is notorious for not recognizing firewire devices, especially camcorders. Try going to the Hardware Manager and updating the IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controller driver. When prompted, you can search in the WINDOWS\WINSXS directory and make sure the Subfolders box is checked. It may show that the driver is the incorrect one but continue to install it.
Afterward try plugging in your camcorder and see if it shows up.

nothing really i turns on normally whether i plug it in to the wall or if its running on the battery???
Do you have anyway of testing the power cord to see if it is good?
What happens when you plug the power cord into it?
