Re: Ariens Snowblower Repair Facilities
Start buy checking the gear box to see if there is any cracks in the housing if there is then your going to need a new gear box assembly, sometimeswhat will happen is the auger will stop do to an object and the shear bolts don't break while the impeller is still triing to spin causeing the gears in the gear box to break. You can go to www.ariens.com, then go to parts, then click where it says click here to enter Parts Radar, you will need to have your model numberyou can get the break down for your machine which will help in dismantle and puting it back together you will also be able to get the part number for any parts you will need. If you need a new gear box get the whole assembly not the indivisual parts. any other questions please feel free to ask.

I take it that you have a 2-stage snow blower, that is is has the auger blades and then the 2-stage impeller. The impeller blade is damaged <<OR>> the motor is to small to through the snow far. If you have a 5-horse engine and throwing heavy snow, the snow may not go as far as the light fluffy stuff.
A single stage snow thrower is not designed to throw snow far, just move it over a bit.
NOT ALL THE TIME THERE IS TWO TYPES, ONE HAS BRASS THREADS THE OTHER IS ALL PLASTIC, WHEN YOU UN-SCREW (LEFT) HOLD SHAFT AT BACK OF MOTOR WITH 7/16 WRENCH, PLASTIC IMPELLERS ON THE SMALL MOTORS CAN BE REUSED . BUT ON A 1.5 AND BIGGER.IT'S A MUST TO REPLACE IT WITH THE BRASS THREADED IMPELLER. I THINK YOU WILL FIND THAT THE MOTORS ROTOR IS LOCKED UP AND WILL NEED TO BE REBUILT, YOU MAY BE ABLE TO ROCK THE IMPELLER, AND WITH SOME LUCK FREE THE MOTOR.. GOOD LUCK, AND PRIME THAT PUMP AFTER ANY PUMP REPAIR !!.. JAY THE POOL PUMP REPAIR GUY IN LONGWOOD FLORIDA..
I am going to assume the belt is good if the impeller it running. You can check the belt by removing the plastic cover in the center of the snow blower.
With the unit safely turned off reach in and turn the blower by hand while putting a little resistance with your other hand on the impeller. Does the shaft from the impeller to the gear box turn?
Does the shaft that the augers are attached to turn? If the impeller shaft turns but the auger shaft doesn't, the gearbox in the front is bad and will have to be replaced.
I the auger shaft turns, check your shear pins again. Sometimes they will break but still stay stuck in the holes. Actually take one out and check it.
If it is a Craftsman you can get a manual from managemyhome.com and parts from searspartsdirect.com. You will need the model number of the snowblower. The number looks like 247.123456.
Any other questions please ask. Do't forget to rate this answer!
Run the impeller without any snow coming into it--hold your hand over the exhaust of the impeller to check for considerable wind force. If almost non existent, make sure the impeller is being driven at full speed. Is there a shear pin related to the impeller? The only other problem would be if the impeller was running the wrong direction, but I don't see how that would be possible. Hold the impeller with your hand while trying to turn the pulley--there should be no slipping between the two. Hope this helps!
For an impeller really stuck on the motor shaft you need to pull the motor thru-bolts and remove the rotor with the pump still attached from the stator. Lock the rotor in a vice and turn the impeller off with a large set of channel locks or a large strap wrench.
You have a Convergence Circuit failure. Most likely the Convergence IC's are STK392-560 that need to be replaced as a pair and there is also a possibility that a Pico Fuse in the Convergence circuit or Power Supply also needs to be replaced. Because of the difficulty in getting the Deflection Board out, I recommend that only a Qualified Service Person do the repairs. You could call Sony at 1800-222-SONY to find a local Service Facility near you. I would estimate a repair cost around 350.00 to 400.00 to repair it. I hope this helps, Skyassoc
The problem is not a cable one, but a TV function. Pull out your user manual for your TV. My dad just had this happen, and he has a Sony WEGA TV. The auto sap is an AUTO Secondary Audio Program, you need to find the menu to back out of it.
