Check your filter if it is dirty it will not allow enough air flow and cause the heat limit stat in the unit to trip causing unit to cut off when it resets it will come back on.

Goodman furnace GMP075-3 The thermostat was in the off position over night and sometime during the night, the induced blower and blower motor came on. The trouble light on board blinks 5 times. I checked...

Need your model # to check the codes but, this coming back on after turning the t-stat off is rare. You may have been in a lockout and the furnace re-started. Some furnaces try to start three times , then lock out. Time out, then re-start. The codes should be on your furnace blower door. Write back with this info and i could help.

Hi i have a ready heater 170T i cleaned it last year to help out our main heater in our barn for when its get way to cold for our main heater to keep up so i turn this on when i am back there for the day...

Based on your description of the problem ............The part where you say "wont relight till it cools down" is a sign that the motor may be getting hot, the internal sensor in the motor is shutting things down for safety reasons. To find out run the heater til it shuts down then remove the cover. Feel the motor. It should be room temp or slightly warm. If hot- replace the motor with 102001-30.

Other possibilities would be a defective thermostat or temperature sensor. Eliminate these possibilities first.

Ihave a Goodman GUS075-3 model. Turned the heat on for the first time this year. After abt 5 mins. running it started to smell like it was on fire, the breaker shut off. Now,the pilot keeps going out and...

I would suspect that your fan motor burned out. What I would suggest is wait about 1/2 hour with thermostat turned down to lowest setting where it is not trying to turn furnace on. I would then turn thermostat back up to call for heat and see what happens. Most electric motors have a thermal overload on them and if its on motor will not run until it cools back down. Even if this works I would recommend that you have motor replaced and clean blower. Hope this helps. Thanks

I have a Lennox elite series furnace. The vents are just blow out cold air, not heat. The theromstat is now working strange. I set the digital theromstat at 75 deg. and then place the thermostat on hold....

You did great! Yes you have a heating system error not a thermostat issue. The 2 blinking lights is an indication something is wrong. Now what you need to do is to remove one of the panels on the heating system and look for a wiring diagram pasted on the reverse. On this diagram there will be a diagnostic chart explaining where to start looking for an issue based on 2 blinks. Because each model is different, a 2 blink error code could indicate a bad pressure switch, plugged air filter or any other thing.

It probably went thru the 3 cycles and shut downed. To reset it you have to kill power and restart it, sound like loose connection .

My Air Conditioner does not get cold after I turned it off and turned it back on. I have now turned the themostat off about 20 mins ago

Air conditioners need a few mins to stabilize (the fluid in the lines) after they are shut off in the middle of operation. The comperssor will normally time out for several mins after it shuts off (or you shut it ofF) preventing it from coming back on within that time. So if you turn it off, and then right back on, you can expect warm air for several mins untill it times out.

Will turn off after 1 min run on low heat burn

Hi Billie,

You didn't mention the model number, but they are all pretty basic. The flame sensor and thermo pile which are thin flame sensors, get charred and need to be cleaned. They should be cleaned with a soft cloth or even a dollar bill will work (a worn one)

When the heater shuts down it usually means it is not sensing the flame and this will cause it to shut off automatically. I have included a link to get the owners manual below.

Good luck and be sure to turn off the gas and power to the unit before working on it.

Thanks,
Paul

Heater won't shut off.

you say you hear a click. this indicates the relay is opening and closing, BUT the contacts may have welded itself shut. try replacing the relay - contactor.
