My 2001 dodge grand caravan sport won't start

1-checked battery- it's good 2-checked wires to and from the battery and starter- no obvious issues 3-have removed and bench tested the starter- it's fine 4-replaced starter on the pretext that it may FUNCTION, but be TOO WEAK to work porperly (also checked new starter before I left the parts store)- still no go 5-have seen the P1648 code but no others 6-power to the starter (old and new) reads the same as the power at the battery terminals- 12.2 to 12.5 7-seriously considering T.N.T. as a valuable vehicle repair expense . . .

DOES THE VEHICLE MAKE ANY NOISE AT ALL WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED?, IF YOU GET A "CLICK" BUT NOTHING ELSE THEN THE STARTER IS JAMMED, GET A HAMMER & GIVE THE STARTER A FEW SOLID FIRM BUT NOT OVER ZEALOUS WHACKS, MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED & TURN THE KEY, IF ITS ANYTHING LIKE ALL THE CARS I'VE HAD OVER THE YEARS IT WILL MAGICALLY SPRING TO LIFE - IF IN DOUBT - GIVE IT A CLOUT!!

van now starts and runs... there is a glitch in the ignition circuit somewhere in the steering column.

currently bypassing the apparently locked up a/c clutch by removing the pulley wheel and using a shorter belt with a matching profile and 79" length instead of 82.5" called for with a/c.

SOURCE: INTERMITTENT !! No power to instruments or starter

I had this problem with 99 Durango and went to AutoBeef.com and learned that this problem notorious for 98 & 99 Durango. After reading all the entries I was encouraged to replace the PCM "Brain". The site also listed the name of an online company that sells brains for <300.00. It was so easy to fix -- I had my brother and son help me to remove 3 screws and replace the brain. The guys from the online company that sells computer brains told me how to do it (Florida Based company -- can't remember the name but you can google)

Dodge Grand Caravan won't start. Replaced ignition and starter tested fine but when I turn key and nothing happens

Check the neutral safety switch on the transmission. It should have three wires on the connector (if I remember correctly). There should be power on the Brown with yellow wire with the key in the crank position. If there is ground that wire and see if the van starts. If it does replace the switch. If it does not check the starter relay. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

The front a/c blower does not work, all fuses are good. please help

J, I am sending you some info to read but it appears that the most likely cause is the blower motor relay. Give the following notes a read and if you need some more help give me a buzz... Best of Luck..

1996 Chrysler Town & Country 3.3L, Vin R 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan ES 3.8L, Vin L 1996 Chrysler Town & Country LX 3.3L, Vin R 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan LE 3.8L, Vin L 1996 Dodge Caravan LE 3.8L, Vin L 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.3L, GAS, Vin R, Eng Cfg V6 1996 Dodge Caravan Sport 3.3L 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE 3.3L, GAS, Vin R, Eng Cfg V6 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan ES 3.3L, Vin R 1996 Plymouth Voyager Rallye 3.3L Customer Concern: Front blower does not work; no power to it. Fuse is OK. Tests/Procedures: 1. At the blower motor, there is a Dark Blue wire. This wire should have battery voltage whenever the key is in the "on" position. Power for the blower motor comes from the blower relay.

2. Access the front blower relay, it is located on the driver's side under the dash, near the junction block. There will be four wires going to it. The Dark Green wire should have battery voltage all the time. The Dark Blue wire is going to the motor. The Black/Orange wire should have battery voltage with the key in the "on" position. The Black wire should be grounded at all times. On this circuit, the relay is energized whenever the key is in the "on" position. Potential Causes: Front Blower Relay
Front Blower Relay Wiring
Heater Ventilation Air Conditioner (HVAC) Control Head
Tech Tips: The front blower relay is located under the dash, on the driver's side. It may be necessary to remove the junction block (fuse and relay box) in order to see it. Diagnostic Codes: None

2006 dodge grand caravan-car won;t start.fuel pumpplugs and wires ok.computer gives no clue and checks everything out ok Battery fine.car turns over but just won;t start.visually othing appears to be...

My 2003 dodge caravan would not start after driving about 1/2 hour. I stopped for coffee and when got back in to start it started I switched gears and it stalled. I tried to start again switched gears then it started but only for 2 sec. No clicking, no cranking sound just would not start but battery functions were great. Spent 2 days with a mechanic who could not resolve so sent to Dodge. After a day of putting wires back and checking out the problem they said it was the computer. Said that it was bad and could be replaced at no charge due to malfunction. Yes, it worked fine afterwards no more problems. They also said that some of the computers are found to be defective like this one so I hope this helps you in the right choice to have the dealer check it out if you are unable to get a computer reading and there is no obvious short in the system. Free sounded very good but as you know there is no such thing as really free as they got me for other things $350 worth. ouch!
