I have a Lexmark X63. When trying to print something from my computer, it will **** down a piece of paper, the progress counter will go to 47% then kick up a paper empty alert. I can pull out the one page, hit paper feed, nothing will unstick it and it's taken to locking up my Computer in the process.

Re: Lexmark X63 false empty paper tray alarm
Nothing much to do I 'm afraid.
shake the printer a bit without paper, cartridges and power, leave it fall down from a little high like 10cm.
Printer as a few sensor to detect the paper, one might be stuck, then it might be a wrong contact (rare) but really often the processor is dead it's what it freezes your PC.
If nothing work, you can always open it and check for unusuall dirt on the weels or the electronics board and sensor...
Have a nice Christmas

If you are getting a jam and there is no paper visible then a likely cause is a false jam that is caused when the paper is not picked up from the tray at the start of printing. Send a print job and listen closely. If you can hear the pickup rollers turning but no paper is being pulled into the printer then either the rollers are dirty or are worn and need to be replaced. Trying printing from a different tray or the manual feed tray to eliminate a fault with a different component on the printer.
For the majority of the Lexmark printers, all that needs to be done is to set the paper size and type the same for each drawer. Example - drawer 1 & 2 sizes are set to letter, drawer 1 & 2 paper types are set to plain. Set up this way, when drawer 1 empties, the printer will automatically switch to drawer 2 to supply the paper.
on left side of tray are 3 fingers, for letter size paper bottom 2 are out, next one in. verify slider on bottom of tray is in place. Essentially paper not sensed correctly. print config page and see paper size
Well a lot people say this about Lexmark's
Take out all paper and with the slim nozzle of a vacuum cleaner give the paper ways a good suck out.
Then for a while work one sheet at a time.
