Re: volume

CHeck your sound card settings and make sure that the drivers appear to be working. If not you will have to install drivers for our sound card.

To whom it may concern. im looking to reboot my acer 6935 but i dont know what way to do it, i dont have the recovery disc. could you please help. thanking you.. brian o' connell

This procedure will work usually unless there has been an alterations to the originally installed OS on the Acer. On recent Acer computers they have a hidden volume on the disk labeled PQService.
This volume is for restoring the computer to the factory settings in same condition as purchased new. It will erase everything currently on the main hard drive.

Step 1: Backup everything that is important to you, on a disk or separate hard drive.
This includes any documents, pictures and application installers.

Step 2: Reboot the system and press ALT-F10 during the POST to start the Acer eRecovery Management and reinstall the operating system.

Step 3: Select Restore system to factory default.

Step 4: The wizard will lead you through formatting the designated drive and installing the operating system from the computer hard drive to the designated drive.

I no longer have volume on my pc. What should I do?

the cause ,may be hardware or software so first you need to diagnose that.
go for the speaker test. or test your pc using other speakers.
this confirms that this is a driver issue.
Please reinstall your audio driver.

no u dont have to do it.
see if ure xp is genuine that is registered and sp3 is not this problem occurs. another reason is ure installation source may be damaged. u can try either to copy the sp3 contens to ur hard drive and try instaling from there.

Speakers not working right

First check the easy stuff, wires, plugs green go to your control panel and double click on sound, down at the bottom you see speaker settings, speaker volume and advanced.
check your speaker volume hear- then click on advance-speaker tab- drop down box -select your set up- (2.1 = two speakers and a sub woofer). And make sure it is correct...then the performance tab- both slides all the way right.
Now if that is all good- uninstall your sound drivers and go to realtek and download the latest drivers for your sound card/or onboard.
If you need help to locate the drivers please provide card number- computer name and model- or the motherboard make and number.
You are using Windows XP-correct?
I hope this helps, please leave a rating.

Unable to log on

is the PC in question yours ?

this is more than likely a security related issue since the server you are attempting to log on to is Server 2003 and u still on 98... server 2003 and 98 dont like each other... see it as microsoft trying to bully you into upgrading your software...

and since you are not the network admin, ( i assume ) you wont be able to fix it, since you dont the rights, easiest solution :

remove the hard drive from the win98 PC and put it in another PC as a secondary or slave drive.. you will be able to access the data on the 98 hard drive via my computer..

if this sounds too daring or you have no idea what im talking about you need to urgently get hold of someone with some basic pc hardware knowledge and ask for help. While what ive suggested here is what i call "basic" ive also been working with PCs for 20+ years... so im not judging you :)

Recording Issues In Vista

Microsoft moved the particular option that you need to enable since Windows XP, and have also changed its default to MUTE.

To hear what is playing through MIC IN...

  • Go to Control Panel and select "Sound"
  • Under the "Playback" tab, double click on your enabled speakers.
  • Select the "levels" tab, and look for "Mic In Volume".
  • Click once on the speaker icon that is muted to un-mute it.
I really hope that this has solved your problem, if it has not, please let me know and I will do my best to help you further. Good Luck!
