Try this solution to reset the ink tank , it should work for most pixmas and several other Canon printers.

If you really need to clean the waste pads, here is the procedure, but don't forget you still have to reset the printer to clear the error message.

Cleaning the Waste Ink Absorber on a Canon PIXMA ip3000

With the printer on, open the lids and wait for the ink tanks to center, as when you put new ink tanks in. Unplug printer. With a flashlight, good tweezers, and small hands (or enlist the help of someone who has them, or get loooong tweezers), reach in over the right where the ink tanks usually rest. Carefully remove the two pads which are held in only by a formed rubber foot. These two pads are porous but stiff plastic. Rinse them in water (in a bowl and carefully so that you don't lose them down the sink!) until the water stays clean. Thoroughly dry them by gently squeezing between paper towels. Swab area that they were sitting in with cotton swabs if you see any pools of loose ink. Replace pads. Reset printer's computer

    Reset ip2000 / 3000

    1. Turn off printer
    2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
    3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
    4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
    5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
    6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
    7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
    8. Your printer should respond as normal..

Can I fix waste toner fill box is full by pulling it out and emptying then putting back in. Workio 2010

The waste toner bottle can be emptied but you must clean it out with COLD water after you have emptied it...NOT HOT.
The machine "looks thro" the neck of the bottle to tell if its empty or full so if you empty the bottle and put it back on "dirty" then the copier might still think its full!!

It is getting difficult to print because a notice keeps telling us 'waste Ink Near Full'. We don't know where the waste ink is or how to empty it.

Hi,
It seems that access to the waste ink pads involves a bit of dis assembly. Some people have resorted to extending a tube from withing the printer to an external waste ink receptacle. However you still need to reset the ink counter.

Canon i350 printer waste ink tray full.

Hi there
Ok take care how you do this.
There no easy way the printers are been made this way so you take them to the shop, but if you are handy with your hands and know what you are doing then you will need to take all apart and take out the ink pads inside the printer and clean them up make sure they nice dry when put back in, then you are going to need a program that you can find on the internet it will be called waste reset tools, or your printer will not work even after you done the clean out.

I am not sure what canon you have so I cant tell you the tools you need for yours, i have got canon MP-Tools on my website if this is the one you need.
with this you can reset the waste ink tank before you do the clean out but remember in time you will need to clean out or it going to be a big mess of ink coming out your printer.

Click Link = http://www.4all2sell.com/reset-tools/MPTool.exe

All I ask is please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Ink catrage shose near empty but when replace catrage keep shoeing near empty. can this be receded?

Bigbossone
This may sound dumb but is it printing? I've had this happen to me and most of the time it is just like a faulty reading. Try removing and putting it back in carefully a few times. Outher wise the cartridge (s) may just be near empty. Run the clean option on the printer a few times is another step I'd take before buying another cartridge. Good luck.
