FACEBOOK: Can't login, password incorrect--I know its correct, Reset password, email address is not registered---I still get emails from friends and friend request adds forwarded to me by facebook.

Called -650-853-1300 but automated system says that they don't help customers over the phone snd that you must request assistance on-line/by email (info@facebook.com)....I already did this last Wed..no body has gotten back in-touch with me....I press 0 for operator and the operator won't let me talk to any1 and she also says that everybody went on vacation for the holiday and that I should wait atleast another week if not two......

Do you have any suggestions?

i have the same problem. i set my facebook to remember me and then all of a sudden a little over a week ago it saved my username but not my password. i can't remember what it is and everyday, several times a day, i request fb to reset my password. it says it sent me an email but i never receive one. very frustrating.

  • Anonymous Jan 10, 2009

I made a facebook finally yesterday. Everything was OK until I tried to log in today. Says the password is incorrect, it isn't. Password reset says my email isn't tied to an account, it is.

Every time I sign up to facebook it works but when I login it doesn't and I know my password and email address and don't make one mistake

  • Arenyeka Jan 15, 2009

Every time I sign up to facebook it work's but when I login it doesn't and I know that my password and email address is right.

  • je777 Jan 21, 2009

Going to www.facebook.com/reset.php did not fix the problem. Every single time I want to get onto facebook I have to reset my password and then everything is fine until I want to log on again. Each time I set the same password and each time the same password doesn't work. I've also tried other passwords. Nothing works for more than one login. This has been going on since the beginning of January.

  • Anonymous Feb 12, 2009

I've got the same problem. It all started when facebook website got hijacked to webmail.com (grrrr.....that pesky thing never really goes away!). Anyhow, I've cleared all past cache, history and cookies in both my IE and Firefox browsers, then ran Ad-Aware.
Now, I can't login to facebook on Firefox, even though I've used the same password. Out of curiosity, I tried logging in on IE, Surprise! Surprise! It got in!

    So, what gives, huh???

Last thursday 5, when i try to check my facebook account i found my password not working anymore and claim that i am not the one.

When Facebook was founded on February 4, 2004, it defined its mission as "Giving people the power to share and make the world more open and connected."
With the widespread success of this social networking website today more than 500 million regular users as of April 2011 it may meet that goal for many.
When a Facebook user can no longer access an account, it can be frustrating, but there is typically a reasonable explanation.
Cookies/Cache
Facebook suggests that any user who can't access their account should clear cookies and cache on their computer as a first step.
This will help remove old and unneeded files from your computer, and will sometimes help your computer to run faster, as well as allowing access to Facebook again.
Once cookies and cache have been cleared, you should type "m.facebook.com" into the address bar on your computer.
Avoid using any old bookmarks or links to visit Facebook for this first visit after clearing the cookies and cache.
Password Incorrect
If you attempt to log into your Facebook account with an incorrect password, you will be unable to access your account.
Even if you have the correct email address, that is only half of the log-in equation, and the correct password is absolutely necessary to log into the site.
If you may have entered the wrong password, enter it again, taking care to get each character correct.
Passwords are case sensitive, so all capital and lowercase letters and any symbols must be entered correctly.
If you have forgotten your password, you will need to click the "Forgot Your Password" link to recover your account and create a new password.
Account Closed
Facebook reserves the right to close accounts that they have determined are in violation of their terms of service.
If Facebook found that your account contained inappropriate content, did not represent a real person, or violated Facebook rules in some way, the account may be closed, leaving you unable to access it.
If your account was closed for one of these reasons, your login will fail and you will be provided with a link to Facebook's "Confirm Your Identity" page, where you can read about typical reasons for account closures.
Email Login Incorrect
If you have entered the incorrect email address, you will be unable to log into your Facebook account.
The email address that you use to log into Facebook is case sensitive, just as your email address is. If you fail to capitalize a letter or forget to insert an underscore that is part of the email address, login will fail.
If you cannot access your Facebook account due to an incorrect email address, double checking the address for correctness prior to logging in again will resolve the issue.
Compromised Account
If account information such as your email address or password is stolen, your account may be compromised.
If, for example, your account information is stolen, the person in possession of your log-in information can access your account and change the password so that you will no longer be able to get to your account.
If you think this may have happened, you must access the "Compromised Account" page on Facebook and follow steps to prove your identity and secure your account.

Reset Facebook Password
Suddenly you attempt to login to your Facebook profile.
Perhaps you have simply forgotten your password or worst case your Facebook account security has been compromised.
Having had this happen to me, I can help you reset your Facebook password and restore your peace of mind.
You will be back networking with your friends, family and coworkers in no time.
Go to your computer bring up the Facebook login screen like you normally would.
Do not fill in any information.
Click on the link above your Facebook user name and password that states forgot your password. This brings you to a different screen.

Fill in the email address associated or on file with your Facebook account.
If you cannot remember, keep trying different email addresses until you do.
Click enter and a Facebook reset link will be sent to your email so you can recover your password. It usually takes up to 5 minutes.
Check your spam email folder if the email does not appear in your inbox.
Click the link in your email and answer any security questions by Facebook.
This brings back to the Facebook website.
Reset your password with a phrase you will remember mixed in with 1 to 2 numbers or more. Record this in a notebook or on a safe place.
Use a different password than you would for your email.
This decreases your chances of having both websites compromised.

Why i cannot open my facebook?

Facebook has become a daily or near-daily habit for many people all over the world: People spend more than 700 billion minutes every month on the site, talking to friends, playing games and sharing information. While signing up with Facebook is simple, sometimes accessing an existing account can prove to be problematic. This can occur for a variety of reasons.
1.Incorrect Password
Facebook users who attempt to log into the site with an incorrect password will not be able to access their account until they go through the password recovery process. Users can recover their Facebook password by clicking the "Forgot Your Password?" link underneath the password login field. Users must enter their Facebook email address, linked mobile phone number, Facebook username, or their name and a friend's name. Following information entry, users can click the "Search" button to identify their account and have the password reset to a new password of the user's choice.
2.Incorrect or Forgotten Email
Facebook users who provide an incorrect email address will be unable to log into the site. Since an email address must be entered exactly as it appears on the email account, including any capital or lowercase letters, numbers and special symbols, an incorrect email login may be as simple as an accidental lowercase letter or a forgotten underscore. Facebook users should check their email address to ensure that no mistakes of this nature have occurred before login.
If a user has forgotten the email address used for their Facebook account, Facebook suggests the following options for email address recovery: Try to log in with a username if one was registered, try to log in using a mobile phone number if one is linked to the account, try locating the account on the "Password Reset" page, or ask a Facebook friend to view the account and find the email address listed on the profile. If none of these options work, Facebook suggests using any option on the "Recover Your Account" page.
3.Cache Or Cookies Problems
Facebook users who are unable to log in may be having a cache or cookies problem. To fix these type issues, users should clear the cache and cookies on the computer or mobile device, enter "m.facebook.com" as a URL rather than using previously established bookmarks or links, then log in as usual.
4.Account Disabled by Facebook
Facebook seeks to keep its site populated with real people, rather than fake profiles. As Facebook states, "Since accounts that impersonate anyone or anything can damage the integrity of this environment, Facebook doesn't allow fake profiles for celebrities, pets, ideas or inanimate objects." If your profile is deemed to be a potential fake profile, the account may be disabled by Facebook. When this occurs, the user will get a message upon attempted login that provides a link to the "Confirm Your Identity" page. This page provides possible reasons that the account may have been disabled. In some cases, it is due to the user not confirming an identity via a phone number.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards.

My password will not be recognised. I have now changed to a Toshiba laptop

If you've type in your password incorrectly, you should see a window pop up. At the bottom, it says "Forgotten your password?" (in blue), if you click this, it will take you to another window which will give you options to send the password to your email account registered with Facebook. OR, another link in blue has "Login Problems Help Page". Any of these should help - one thing though - did you type in your email address correctly at the login page? It will not match an incorrect email / correct password, or correct email / incorrect password combination!
