Try the L mixture screw, turn it in slightly if the engine speeds up it was too rich if it bogs down go out slightly un till it starts 4 stroking.

As a starting point both screws set to 1 turn out from just seated..if the high speeds ok dont touch the H screw.

How long should the juel line be on a 40cc poulan

A fuel line should be long enough to teach from where it attaches to the carberator to the fuel tank but not quite touching the bottom - however the line in the tank end should have a small filter on it. You should be able to buy a replacement line for your specific saw.

Chainsaw won't idle- runs fast only

Gently Tighten the carb adjustment screw fully tight then adjust it out 360 (full turn) then again a further 180 ( half a turn) and your idle speed should be set correctly. Let me know how you get on

Can i get a .325 sprocked for this saw

According to this list of sprockets, the Wild Thing has a 0.3937 drive shaft and they do list 0.325 sprockets with that diameter shaft, but not for the Wild Thing. Doesn't mean they won't fit but you can call them and ask if there is any other reason it won't work. May be an easy cross. Good luck!

Chain won't stop when throttle pressure is released.

Start the engine and allow to warm up. Turn the idle speed screw (not the jet screws) CCW to reduce engine speed until the chain stops even hinting at running. If you get it too low, the engine will tend to die when it idles. Hope this helps!

I have a poulan 2550 40cc that won't run in idle

Possibly the spark plug, idle screw is set too low, air getting into the fuel line. Does it run at higher speeds but kills when trigger is released?
