My shredder runs only in reverse, what cna i do?

I completely disassembled this unit. Cleaned it thoroughly. Made sure all wires were firmly connected. Result: Just have to accept the fact that the switch on the PC Board wore out. Reverse is used far less than forward on the switch which is why it still functions. This unit is warranteed for 5 years. I have had it for six. Time to go shredder shopping.

That is a defective on or off/rev switch or your P.C. board is defective. In either case, your shredder will require a service call

Only the reverse was working, I switched the BLACK and WHITE wires with each other going to the shredder motor, thus when I switched it to reverse, it would go foward and shred.
btw the paper switch sensor which was mechanical was working fine, i think something on the circuit was fried.

You have the three phrase power wires croosed

My problem was a poor solder connection to the auto/off/rev switch on the switch circuit board. I suggest that you resolder all eight connections to the switch on the switch circuit board. Also, make sure that the connections to the auto wires (brown, gray, white, orange) on the switch circuit board are good.
