Question about Whirlpool LTE5243D Top Load Stacked Washer/Dryer

2 Answers

I have a Whirlpool stacked washer and dryer combination. The water is overflowing on the washer. It happens during the rinse cycle when the water is filling up. It appears that the cycle gets "stuck" in one position with the water continuing to fill until it overflows.

I looked in the manual, but cannot seem to find the pressure hose. Can you describe where the pressure hose is located? Thank you very much!

Check the pressure hose. a kinked clogged or disconnected hose continues to fill. the pressure switch senses the air pressure in the hose.awaiting your further comments. thank you.

The pressure hose is a thin (maybe 1cm diameter) clear hose that is attached to the bottom right side of the tub.

Check the Drain Tube, Check the Screen. When it gets to the FIRST Spin Cycle, Check the Water Level inside the Drum and see if it is Completely Draining... There is a Water Level Switch that should not be allowing it to Overflow so you may have an issue there... But first check for a Blockage

My washing machine overflows during what seems like the rinse cycle. When I shut off the water supply and let it run the water drains out. Whats causing that problem??

It is so common that the drain leaks in many ways and is the most problematic fault in a washing machine. This fault indicated can be due to failure of the water level sensors causing overflow but in all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged or the drain hose clamps can be loose on the grip which can all cause the leak to occurs. Removing and Cleaning the drain pump/valve, tightening of the hose is also very important. Also water can leak if there is gaps on the front door gaskets and must be checked but this will happen only during the cycle and not on the drain cycle end.

During the wash cycle of the 24" combo washer dryer, it leaked

A hose inside the washer is your most likely culprit. On older whirlpool washers they used a plastic hose to run from the pump to the back case of the machine that was pretty susceptible to cracking.

Washer stopped during spin cycle

Hello, try to checked the pump filter, and the pump is actually working. then I would suspect a draining problem.
If filter clean and pump works fine then it could be a control module fault. if this were the case, then it would probably be wiser to purchase a new washer.
Thanks

Small puddle of water underneath washer when wash cycle was completed.

That could be 1 of a couple things.

1) During the agitate cycle... some water could've made it out of tub.

2) Possible Tub Crack (or overflow line)

3) Check your inlet lines

I would run it again watching it very carefully to determine if any of these are the problem.

Kenmore stack washer and dryer

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.
