Ink light is constantly blinking

I have a HP 932C that the ink light is constantly blinking. With the lid shut, the carriage is jerking every 10 seconds. With the door open the jerking has disappeared but the light keeps blinking. I only replaced the black ink cartridge because they told me that there was still colored ink remaining.
Can't print anything......Should I buy the colored ink Cartridge?
Thank you much
Bob

There are several lights that could be blinking, and several reasons why. Try looking up your lights here:

Be sure the cartridge is seated all the way down.

Our hp deskjet 932C printer is leaking ink. What

You could carefully clean this as follows:
put the printer on some newspaper to avoid further spills.
Turn on the printer, then open the lid to allow the carriage to move to the center.
Now unplug the printer, then gently move the carriage to the left and out of the way.
You should now have limited access to the spittoon area.
You can clean this area by carefully scooping out the ***** of ink with a plastic spoon. (Be careful not to drop ink sludge on your printer, desk, carpet or clothing.)
Once most of the ink has been removed then use a crumpled paper towel to soak up the ink in the bottom of the service station.
It may take several rounds of this to clean up the service station.
It is not necessary to completely clean the service station, just get the majority of the ink out.
Once this has been completed you could turn the printer up and clean the bottom area of the printer. Do not tip up the printer before the service station has been cleaned or you are likely to create a mess....

I replaced the black ink cart. but the ink light still blinks. do i have to replace the color cart also? or what else could the problem be? thanks so much

Hi:
I would say replace them both, but first make sure you removed the print head protectant strip from the cartridge. Go into you printer properties and check your ink levels to see if the color is empty, also make sure you use HP ink cartridges, off brands do not meet the required spec's all the time. And never use ink refill for cartridges as sometimes the ink they use is to thick for the HP Printer.

Replace ink cart and amber light still blinks

Usually if the Amber light is blinking with a new cartridge, that cartridge has bad electronics.

Try replacing the cartridge with another or the old one, if the light goes out it was just a bad cartridge.

Blinking orange light on hp 932c

Solution

  1. Check to ensure that the top access door is firmly closed.
  2. If the light continues to blink, open the top access door. When the top access door is opened, the print cradle moves so the yellow arrow on top of the cradle points to a drawing of a cartridge. Each drawing describes a symptom.

Solution two:

  1. Turn the printer off. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Wait 30 seconds. Plug in the power cord to the wall outlet. Plug in the power cord to the back of the printer.
  3. Turn the printer on.
Solution three:

The print cartridge carriage is stuck.

Solution

1. Open the top access door on the printer.

2. Remove the ink cartridges.

3. Turn the printer off, then on again.

4. Replace the ink cartridges.

5. Close the top access door.

Solution Four:

Issue

The 2-Sided Printing Module is installed incorrectly, not at all, or the back access door is unlocked or open.

Solution

1. Turn the knob on the rear access door of the printer counter-clockwise, and remove the door.

2. Insert the module into the back of the printer.

3. If the lights remain on, remove the 2-Sided Printing Module by pressing in the buttons on the ends of the unit.

4. Re-install the 2-Sided Printing Module by pushing the unit back into the printer without pressing the buttons, until it snaps firmly into place.

HP Deskjet 932C

With the cover off, there are little white gears down on the right bottom that activate a ink plug tray.
Lid-open sensor is a gray tab on the lid that interrupts a black optic sensor on the circuit board. If your printer gets wet and no power up, unplug printer and short the two capacitors on the smaller circuit board to clear internal printer fault memory. Insulate yourself, small voltage in there even unplugged.
