Music files will not play
If ripped from a CD, It's possible that the copy protection in Windows Media Player was checked. This would limit the times a file can be played or transferred. Verify the audio quality is no lower than 128 Kbps when ripping.

Reset your MP3 player
Press the reset hole with a thin object such as a paper clip. If your player is freezing during a specific file, the file(s) could be corrupt and should be deleted from and re-transferred to your device.

  • Format your MP3 player
  • Upgrade or reinstall your firmware

If your device doesn't display "Charging" or "USB connected" while connected to the PC, the battery may be completely drained (or faulty) and it may take a few minutes before the PC detects the player and begins to charge it. If after ten minutes the player isn't detected, try using another USB port on the PC.

  • The battery may be exhausted and will require replacement.

I was transferring files onto my binatone ebook and suddenly went off, i plugged it in and the battery is on red, does this mean the battery just went low?

From your description, it sounds like the battery charge was low and the ebook shut off. You will probably have to transfer some of the files that were missed after it shut off.

Hopefully, it was smart enough to not corrupt any files.

Good luck!

How to charge

Most media (MP3) players transfer music files and charge the battery via the USB cable when connected to the computer.
The player can be charged by a USB charger mains device.

My sony walkman mp3 will not play on a dock

I had the same problem! Went on Sony trouble shooter found this -
Battery is 100% discharged. Therefore, PC's USB with 5V/500mA set up has not enough power to start up the charging process because loading current is greater than the set up, therefore USB is disabled immediately due to sudden current load.
  1. Battery must not be discharged 100%
  2. If it happens then the supplied AC adaptor must be used firstly because it is providing 5V/800mA power. After a couple of minutes the unit can be connected to PC without problem then it can continue the charging during file transfer, etc.
Basically when the battery is totally flat the computer power is not strong enough to charge the battery and run the mp3 player! I bought a usb adapter charger and charged it up and now it works!

Creative Labs Nomad Zen Extra Jukebox 30 GB not working

Uninstall everything from your PC, reboot, reinstall driver and the Explorer (I do not use MediaSource, only the Explorer).

If it didn't work out follow these steps:

1. Uninstall Creative Media Source and all related software.
2. Install the driver. In the installation CD the driver is usually in \Drivers\English
3. Turn on the Nomad an connect it to the PC.
4. Install MediaSource(the program requires that you have the nomad connected while installing)
5. Install MediaSource plugin
6. Try transferring files.

If you?re still running into problem know that there are other programs capable of handling MediaSource?s functions, such as - Portable Audio Devices Power Toy , NomadSync, Real player, and there?s also a Zen plugin for the Winamp.

Good luck!

Cant transfer music or charge it

Could be one of three things.

  1. Try a different USB port, preferably one in the back of the PC
  2. Remove the battery from the back and re-insert it for a better contact
  3. Try a different PC.
If none of those work, thy this to re-install the Firmware.

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Please RATE my solution at the bottom.

Best of Luck.
