does any one know what part to purchase to replace cd burner in alesis masterlink?

Assuming you're trying to record to a particular track in a playlist, what happens if you try and record to another playlist, another track? Same error?

I found that when the HDD was failing, there was for a while only one 'bad' track in one playlist; tracks recorded to the other playlists were fine - for a while. Eventually I had to replace the HDD, but it soldiered on for some time.

What would cause discs burned recently on my Masterlink to not playback on others CD players?

Good day sir/ma'am hi, its a reality that not all CD players are alike, the burning of the CD which can't be read by other CD players can be caused by the following:
  1. quality of CDR and CDRW.
  2. lens compatibility.
  3. speed of writting and rewritting.
  4. scratches and marks on the CD.
  5. playback circuit that reads the CD.
  6. DIstance of the lens.
  7. manufacturers use different formats and methods of burning. and alot more.
For as long as the CD you burn on your masterlink can be played on itself, your fine. You can try burning the CD on the PC for more compatibility on the CD player.

Starts up wth this error. the HD/CD doesn't fix it. Please help.

reload the os. it is avail on the alesis site.
the o.s. may be corrupted and a reflash is what it needs. if the issue persist, the HD may need to be replaced.

you will need to burn an image cd for the masterlink. most cd programs can do this. if you cant, send me an email.

Upon turning on our Masterlink, it read "LOAD OS".

if you are computer savy, you can disassemble the masterlink and test the cd drive in another computer. if it works, check the power connector to the cd drive. switch it with the hd connector to see if it fires up.

keep use posted.

DVD+RW playback problem(s)

same prob with the shows freezing up

with a DVD+/- RW disc the amout of time keeps dropping because with every recording process the disc loses a life you can burn those disc 200 times before they become useless so the disc might be beyond the life peroid or bad

my prob is with the DVD-/+R disc tho and i figured it out the disc was bad

for the grinding noise if its hi piched its normal thats the disc spinning up to read or write speed

if that not the case something is rubbing in there and that might explaine the writting errors

**DISCLAMER**
the disc manurfacture dose not take resposnablity for defective disc and any loss they have caused(if the data is lost)

Any clues on how to copy multiple programmes from my hd to a dvd?

Hi,

Depending on the DVD Media used.
If you used DVD-R Or DVD+R, then these are write once Only.
Once data has been written, and finalised by writting the Table-of-Contents to the Disk. Then no-more can be added. Hence read-Only.
If you use RW/ DVDs then they can be written to several Times. Although your Player may insist on you Formatting/Erasing any previous Data from the Disk. Before re-writing.
If you are using Write Once only media i.e DVD-R Or +R.
Then it would be a good suggestion to write approximately 4 gig of data Or between 2-3 Hours Of entertainment, to 1 Disk.
Re-Writables are the Practical option For You.
