Try this: find the BIOS reset jumper on motherboard and switch it to on, then after 10 seconds switch it back. then disconnect floppy cables then boot system then enter BIOS setup [F2 or DELETE keys], then "enter the BIOS and look for detect floppy disc and dis-able and ensure that the HDD0 is set as first boot device in standard cmos settings...per sandrew" if success, then problem with floppy drive or cable setup.

HI if your floppy light stays on all the time your floppy cable must be installed wrong, be sure that the red line is line up on the pin one side of both the floppy ide on the motherboard and also on the floppy itself. also make sure you don't have a floppy disk inserted in the drive.

Disconnect drive 'A' floppy drive and see if it will boot up without it connected. It may be that the floppy is faulty if you know the ide cable is on the correct way round, as your pc may be set to halt on all errors

assuming you have no floppy disc in drive.

On boot up press F2 Del and enter the bios and look for detect floppy disc and dissable and ensure that the HDD0 is set as first boot device in standard cmos settings.

press F10 to save and exit and allow a re boot of the pc.

VIDeo CARD not working

You will need drivers for the FX5000 first, disable the driver for the one your using, shut down and then install the new FX5000, boot up and wait until the VGA comes on, it can take several mins sometimes.

Hi stan_z4, do you have the manual for you're board?
I'm showing the P4VMM2 is made by ESC = EliteGroup.
Which is not listed above (Intel D845EPI).
If you do have the board EliteGroup P4VMM2 than turn to page 11 in the user manual. The jumper for the cmos/bios JBAT1, Pins must be set to 1 & 2. If JBAT1 is set to pins 2 & 3 you will reset you're bios every time you boot up.

Don't have you're manual? Click on the link.

My pc still won't boot up

The beeps are beep codes. Were they short or long? Also do you know who makes your BIOS?

My pc doesn't boot up

Did you have onboard video before? What is the video card? AGP8x, AGP4x, PCIe? If you had onboard video, you'll need to change the settings in the BIOS and disable the onboard video. You'll have to plug in at the onboard to access the BIOS.

P4vmm2 doesnt boot,Y?

Hi yansky, When you turn the computer on do you see or hear any of the following: -Does the power LED turn on and if so for how long? -When you turn you power on listen closely for any sounds like hard drives or fans starting up. -Does anything show on your monitor, if yes what exactly? -When turned on do you hear any beeping sounds from the computer? If you do listen for the pattern of long and short beeps and let us know what they are. If you see absolutely nothing you should try testing the socket the computer is plugged into. Fuses blow, power strips die cords develop shorts so unplug the computer and plug in a lamp to verify you?re getting power. If that doesn?t turn up anything let us know the answers to the questions above plus any other observations and we?ll try to help.

Suddenly quit and won't start.

Could be a processor failure, but try changing the cmos battery first on the mobo and locate 'JBAT1' terminal on mobo and put jumper across pins 2-3 then back to pins 1-2 and try starting up again.
