I'm getting a message, : Left and Right Cartridge Incorrect.
I just replaced the cartridges with two new ones, and still getting the same message. ''Cartridge Error''. Im sure the cartridges are put in correct. I don't understand the problem. When i first bought the Printer, I used it only a few times, and then began to get these messages. Thanks: CashEquity

Re: I'm getting a message, : Left and Right Cartridge...
If u feel cartridges are fine and installed properly then there can be only 2 reasons for the error.either the copper points that detect ur cartridge circuit are not clean and cannot detect ur cartridge, clean them with a damp tissue to remove any dust .it will solve ur problem if still it does not work then its a cable of the carriage which can be faulty. check it out if the cable is faulty replace it.

If you are using a photo cartridge, in your case the #31 cartridge, insert that in the left carrier where the black cartridge is. Make sure your color cartridge is inserted in the right carrier to continue printing.
First make sure you are placing the right color cartridge into the right slot. Most Printers are touchy about the installation of ink cartridges. If the instructions say to press the cartridge into the slot until you hear a loud click, that's what they mean. If at first you don't succeed, remove the cartridge and reinsert it into the slot again and press on it hard till it clicks. Then your printer should work properly. Hope this is of some help. Bud
Hello there: what this is refering to is that the cartridge is either not the right one for the printer or the device is having a problem with that cartridge i would remove the cartridge and verify that it is the right one that goes in their and also since youare having the cartridge out i would clean out the contact area to get rid of the old ink that may be sitting on the contact areas ok best regards Michael
Many newer HP Printers internally keep track of your cartridges by a serial number embedded into the cartridge. When it's low, the printer remembers. This is entirely done within the printer itself, and not the printer software. Some printers EXPIRE the cartridges after 18 months according to the installation date even it is not empty.
Outrageous, but true.
A fix? Most HP printers will only keep 2 cartridges in memory, so if you have 2 extra cartridges, (even empty ones) you could cycle them through to reset the printers memory, and reset the ink level to full. Basically, even though you've refilled your cartridge, the printers has the cartridge's serial number stored in memory. This will reset it.
