Question about Video Game Consoles

2 Answers

We have two Wii games (Playground, Pirates) that will not allow us to play multiplayer. We click the 1 and 2 button at the same time on the second remote. The lights flash, but the remote never connects to the game. It should be noted that we have changed batteries in the second remote and it still will not connect. However, the second remote will connect when we play Wii Sports and Wii Play.

I tried the "sync" button on the inside of the console, but that didn't connect the second remote either.

Thank you! Opening up the back cover of the remote and hitting the sync button on the remote and on the console at the same time worked! Very simple!

You have to have your Wii turned on before you Synchronizing Your Wii remote.
Try opening the battery Cover of your Wii Remote, there is a red button there called the Syncro Button. Then open the Sd Card Cover of your Wii, and press the Red button there as well. You then should be able to use the Wii Remote with the Wii Cole.
If this one does not work try anothe approach
Press the Home button on the connected Wiimote. Next, go to the settings, and disconnect. When the screen says disconnected, press 1 and 2 simontenously on both Wiimotes. If done correct, the Wiimotes should vibrate and make a confirmation sound. Good Luck

This is a common issue, but not hard to resolve. When you put the new game in the wii, turn the remotes on and then see if they are connected to the wii by looking at the lights on the remote. You should have a light below the 1 on the bottom area of the front of the remote. And on remote number 2 you should have a light below the number 2 on the bottom area of the front of the remote. If you have these lights on or not and the remotes are still not responding, then take the remote that isn't working and bring it near the wii console/box and open the front panel in the middle of the box and hit the scan button on the inside. This should scan and see the missing remote. Be patient as it may take a minute to find and assign that remote.

Wii hand will not show up we tried syncing, taking out batteries, unplugging and plugging sensor bar and nothig works

Synchronizing the Wii Remote with the Wii Console Synchronizing the Wii Remote to a Wii console allows the Wii Remote to communicate with the console. The Wii Remote included with your system should already be synchronized to your console. However, all additional Wii Remotes you use with your system also need to be synced in order to function properly..
There are two different modes of synchronizing (syncing):
  • STANDARD MODE - The Standard Mode procedure is used when adding additional Wii Remotes to your system or if you want to re-synchronize your original Wii Remote. Once synchronized, the Wii Remote will stay synced to the console unless you overwrite the settings by syncing the remote to a different console. For instructions on Standard Mode syncing, please click here.

  • ONE TIME MODE - This mode allows you to temporarily use your remote on a Wii console other than your own, or to use a friend's remote on your console. It can also be used to change the order of the Wii Remotes, without the need to turn off the Wii console. One Time Mode does not delete the Standard Mode setting stored in the Wii Remote. In this mode, the Wii Remote will only communicate with the Wii console while the power is on. When the power is turned off, the Wii Remote will lose its sync with the Wii Console. For instructions on One Time Mode setup, please click here.
Note: Only a Wii Remote in Standard Mode can turn the Wii console power ON or OFF.
    Standard Mode Synchronization
Note: Make sure you have placed batteries in the Wii Remote (how to).
  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.

  2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.

  3. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the Player LED will blink. Quickly press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console.

  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
  5. wiiremotesynchstandard.gifThis procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to your system.
Go to the Next Step (Playing Game Discs) >

One Time Mode SynchronizationNote: This mode temporarily removes Standard Mode synchronization setup for all Wii Remotes until the power of the Wii console is turned off. When the power is turned back on again, the Standard Mode settings will return.
  1. Press the HOME Button on a Wii Remote that is synchronized with the Wii console.
  2. installation.gif
  3. Select the Wii Remote Settings option from the Home Button menu.
  4. homesmall.gif
  5. Select the Reconnect Option.
  6. wiiremotesynchotm1.gif
  7. Press the 1 and 2 Buttons at the same time on the Wii Remote that you want to synchronize with the console. If you are syncing multiple Wii Remotes, press the 1 and 2 Buttons on each Wii Remote immediately (without a significant pause) in the order you want them synced. The order in which you synchronize Wii Remotes determines the player order (1 through 4) for multiplayer games. The Player LED will blink during the syncing process. When the blinking stops, the connection is complete.

I'm trying to play multiplayer on quatom of solace for the wii and we cant figure out how to get the second remote on.

All you should need to do is have good batteries in the controller, then press any button to turn it on. If it is a new controller, it needs to be connected to the console. To connect, press the red button under the battery cover.
