Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

"Unknown" listed in spots for songs in player's list of all songs

When you go to the list of all songs in the mp3 player, there are some songs at the end of the list (which is alphabetical), that say Unknown. When you click on those "Unknown"s, a song starts playing, the one that is listed first alphabetically.
Like for me, 1234 by Feist begins playing. There are always many "Unknowns," usually around 4-8, that seem to take the spots of songs.
What can I do?
Thank you

It's the id3 tag information that hasn't been filled out, most likely.   (id3? Hmmm)
Anyhow, depending on the operating system you use and the program you use for your music, it's easy to change.
If iTunes, just import the song into itunes, and "edit Info" and change all the song information. In Windows I believe you can do it in WMP, or by right-clicking the file.
Alot of the time a song just has the info in the filename, but mp3 players use the id3 tag to identify a song.

Songbird

Songbird is unauthorized free music download website. Because they arent part of a large music selling company, they are more likely not to have the correct formats set for mp3 players or other music devices. You have to have the right formats to get organization for the songs to match with correct artist and album. Example: If there is a song that has format WMV and the song's album is format WAV,then its gonna confuse your music device, so the music device will put the WMV format song with the wrong WMV format album in its alphabetical order instead of the songs matching album WMV format. So restore your mp3 player and try to use a legalized music download website.

Need to deleet songs

Deleting Files,Pictures,etc from MP3 Player
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer" When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there. Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible. Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete" Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want. Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player. Good Luck, I hope this helps Please rate me, Thank You
