HI,

Vista is a mess for this type of problem as it was a gateway from XP to the new file structure in windows. The Appdata folder is all about the programs you have installed on the system. Uninstall any old program that is no longer used to help free up space.

Here are a few links that might give you some ideas on how to cleanup the drive.

SOURCE: can you help me on a problem installing yahoo messenger

I'm assuming you're trying to install yahoo messanger.
here's something I suggest:
1. It looks like you have downloaded the installation file, so make sure you're installing ymessenger after the file has been downloaded instead of trying to install the file by running the installation as you download the file.
2. try to run the downloaded installation file in safe mode.
3. it does not look like a problem with the windows installer but you can try to update to the latest windows installer:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en
4. do a clean install of the ymessgr. go into c:/program files/ and delete any folder associated with yahoo or yahoo messanger (do this carefully as if you have other yahoo stuff by deleting this folder other yahoo apps may not work.
5. the version you may be trying to install may be in beta version meaning it may be buggy... try to downgrade or go to a more stable version: http://in.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081108003342AAzupqV

good luck!!

How to reduce data amount that takes storage space in facebook app on android 5.1 ? Cache can be cleaned everytime but data cleaning causes to reset all your log in information.

Hi Alito2123,

There is no way to reduce the data amount on the Facebook app. The developers are the ones who can reduce the data for the app. If you need the extra storage space use Swipe for Facebook or just use the Facebook mobile site on your mobile browser.

How do I use my SD card for internal storage?

There are a quite a few options.

  1. Open Terminal Emulator and check with the 'df' command, how much space is left on your partitions. Is /data or /system full?

  2. Goto system/apps/all > 'Sort by size to' find out which apps eat

    up the most space.

  3. Check if you have big size apps installed where you could change data location within the app to sdcard. Thinking of navigation apps and games. Every app where you have to download additional data to the actual app.

  4. Make sure you use the sdcard for media like photos (camera settings) music and video.

  5. CM has a built-in system to move apps to SD under settings/apps/on sdcard. Check apps that are big and you use rarely and are not interactive first. Reason: If you still use the USB feature those moved apps are not available to system anymore and are least likely to cause trouble.

  6. Another option is to use the app Foldermount. Use it to move certain locations to SD like the Download folder. Or the DCIM folder if the camera doesn't support sdcard location in settings.

  7. Use the app Link2SD which is able to move every bit from an app (including app data) to SD. It has a good overview on how much space an app really needs. You will have to create a separate partition on the SD card for that to work.

HOW CAN I GET THE FILES IF IT INDICATES CANT READ INTERNAL MEMORY

You still have to free some internal memory. By deleting, Apps, pictures, messages or any other data from the internal memory.
Most Android phones can insert micro SD cards, but don't expect them to act as an extension of the internal memory. You only can put adar on the card, so you can copy that to the internal memory for the use of the data. See it as a kind of external hard disk. Try to backup some data, and then delete the data, to free memory. Be aware if you want to install an app you have to free more than twice the space of the app. First there must be space to save the app. and when saved, it should be installed. So while installing it takes more than twice its volume.

How do you bring a deleted app back

Im afraid it's not possible. After you delete an app, everything goes with it. It remembers your username because of online registries for the app but nothing else. The data you want is stored on your ipod touch. The only way you could've saved it is if you backed up your ipod touch with itunes before you deleted it. Backing up in itunes saves all "in-app" data as well has what is on the ipod touch itself.....Sorry

AOL Software

Hi there,

The file which is missing is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AOL\C_America Online 9.0\idb\SNMaster.id

Browse to C:\Program Files\AOL 9.1\ and double click on aol.exe. It should start just fine.

To copy the AOL data files and move them to the right location:
1. Click the Start button, then open My Computer.

Note: If using Windows Vista, click the Start button, then click Computer.

2. Access the AOL folder.

If using Windows 2000 or Windows XP, double-click the Local Disk (C:), then navigate to Windows\All Users\Application Data\AOL folder.
If using Windows Vista, double-click the Local Disk (C:), then navigate to the Windows\ProgramData|AOL folder. Windows Vista users can alternatively search for C_AOL90 to find it.

3. Right-click the C_AOL90 folder, then click Copy.
Note: If there are multiple copies of the C_AOL90 folder, copy the folder with the later letter next to it. e.g.: If you have C_AOL90a and C_AOL90b, then C_AOL90b is folder that would need to be copied.

4. Paste the folder into the correct location.
If using Windows 2000 or Windows XP, navigate to the C:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Application Data\AOL folder. Right-click the AOL folder, then click Paste.
If using Windows Vista, navigate to the C:\ProgramData\AOL folder. Right-click the AOL folder, then click Paste.
Notes:

If you do not find the Application Data folder, it may be hidden. To see all hidden folders on Windows XP or 2000, click the Tools menu, click Folder Options, then click the View tab. Under Hidden files and folders, choose the Show hidden files and folders option by clicking it, then click the OK button.
If you do not find the ProgramData folder, it may be hidden. To see all hidden folders, click the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options, then click the View tab. Under Hidden files and folders, choose the Show hidden files and folders option by clicking it, then click the OK button.

5. Launch the AOL® software again.

Warm regards,

I would suggest using Windows Restore (Start/All programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore to restore your computer back to the way it was before you moved the files. Then you can move the iTunes libraries from within iTunes itself.

If you are not familiar with System Restore, note that when you go back if you won't lose data but any other programs you've installed will need to be reinstalled.

Transfering mail setup from Windows xp to a windos vista machine with EasySuite

I'm not 100% sure about vista because I hate it but I can help you copy all of your outlook express data to a CD\DVD disk & your address book. Your network settings for express account is a phone call to your ISP.
If vista's explorer is set up like XP you should be able to copy your data into outlook express.
Open all these folders on you XP system.
User name\Application Data\Identities\{xxxxxxx}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
Copy the Outlook Express folder to your CD.
User name\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book. Copy Address Book folder.
Making sure you have everything.
Open, User name\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{xxxxxxx}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
Compair the two Outlook Express folder files. CD will not allow copy of same named folder.
If Vista's lay out is the same as XP than copy Outlook Express folder to Vista.
Suggest you have your current ISP setting /account setup before copying to Vista

Let me know if this works for you!
Good Luck & Kind Regards.

Fixed - Hotsync all your stuff to your desktop. Remove any cards, and do a cold boot (press reset while holding down power button)

Then synch everything back again. I'm never buying another palm again.
