Webcam not working

The webcam worked fine for the first few months, then suddenly stopped. The computer doesn't even recognize that the internal webcam exists anymore.

Reinstall the software for the webcam. If you don't have it go to the site that manufactures your machine and look for the instalation files, or just type in the name of the webcam and model of the computer like this, need instalation files for a --- webcam in a ---- laptop, you will get a few thousand answers but your answer will be near the begining, ..or like this need webcam install for a ----- built in webcam, it should take no time at all, thaats how we find stuff many times, you can't keep millions of files handy but they are on the internet, good luck, Gym

ASUS U50F webcam not working for months. I have looked through tons of forums, I've tried contacting the *nonexistent* support on ASUS' website and they never even helped me. I got this notebook...

Most likely you have another chat program using the camera. Right click on the icons in the systray next to the clock and exit programs. After exiting each program, try the camera again. The last program you exit before the camera is the one causing the problem. Restart the computer and right click on that program and try and set it to not start when the Windows starts.

I bought a advent modena laptop 1 month ago the web cam was working fine however now its stopped working. I can't even find it under the devices so I can check if the software is up to date?

Sometimes the webcam can be disabled with a button on your laptop. Look at the top row of buttons, go through each button and look to see if any of them resemble a webcam or maybe something that makes you think of a webcam.

If there is, hold your Function button (Fn) and press that key. Should do the trick!

If this works, please rate for me :) thanks

I have an Acer Extensa 5620Z. Last year, I did a clean install with Windows 7. All year long, the Crystal Eye webcam worked perfectly fine. Now it has stopped working all of a sudden! It is not recognized...

It is possible that the web cam has become defective.
Go to ACER's site and download new drivers and see if that helps. If it still doesn't work, then the webcam is defective and can only be replaced.

I have a built in webcam but i do not know how to work it. I have tried everything. It doesn't identify it.

You need to access the camera from the ArcSoft WebCam Companion application. If you do not have it installed, you can download it from your manufacturers website. Once installed, it will work fine.

try to go to msconfig.. how to go to msconfig?
click on start>on the right corner of your screen click run> then type msconfig then click on the services tab. now enable everything you might disable some program to load during startup and maybe your webcam functionality is one 'em. then reboot your computer.

Acer crystal eye cam

did you check on Device Manager?.. if it has and Yellow Exclamation Mark, then something must be wrong with the drivers or BIOS setup... If it has and Red X on it, it could mean, disabled (BIOS again) or disabled on the Device Manager.

If There's no Yellow or Red Mark then.. i should work fine...
