What can i do to fix my dell inspiron one desktop from freezing at windows starting screen

press f8 vigorously as the computer begins to boot. this should take you to the windows start options screen, which includes diagnostic tools such as windows repair/restore and safe mode.

Windows repair (repair your computer) has a start up repair function which you can attempt, and if that does not work, there is a windows restore (from previous back up/restore point) in the repair utility as well.

If neither of those features work, choose "run in safe mode(/with networking)" at the f8 windows start options screen instead of "repair my computer". it may be usable in safe mode, and safe mode may reveal more clues about an actual hardware malfunction.

long story short, f8 before windows begins to cycle up.

  • A recently installed program has disabled the Welcome Screen and Fast User switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall the program.

The following file name might help you identify the program that made the change:

    C:\Windows\System32\Awgina.dll.
  • User interface failure.

The login user interface dll C:\Windows\System32\Awgina.dll failed to load. Contact your system administrator to replace the dll or restore the original dll.U can try do this in case u find any problems u can let me know...

My computer will not let me download Yahoo messenger. A window appear and says; "The application failed to intialize properly (0xc0150002)"

This woudl need more clarification. When you mean download do you mean install to the pc or to actually download from the internet. people always confuse these terms.

installing is when you have the software and now want to install for use on the computer.
downloading is when you are transfering data from another computer on a network.

if you are downloading then it woudl be best to attempt to reset your browser, reboot and try again.

if you are installing then there can be a few things wrong.
1) you do not have the rights needed to install the software (your on a limited account not administrator)
2) you do not have enough disk space to extract the installer and its files
3) the installer is corrupt and needs to be replaced
4) Incompatible version of installer
5) incompatible version of operating system be it version or bit type (32bit / 64bit)
6) the windows installer is out dated and needs to be updated

this is just a few things to start with. also if you are downloading it from the internet then doign run, try savign it first to the computer then running the package.

Restore gone wrong?

I would try and boot into safe mode (F8) and try a different restore point.
If you have a xp disc you can try a repair installation.
You pop the disc in DONT choose to repair, carry on as if you are installing windows, it will search for previous versions and it will offer you the chance to perform a repair installation.
this looks like a full install and takes as long but you dont loose any programs or files.

Canoscan Lide 30 compatibility with Windows 7.

There are no official drivers for CanoScan Lide 30 for Windows XP, so your problem is obvious. I suggest you sending an e-mail at Canon including details about your scanner (date purchased, serial number in text form or scanned) asking them to develop driver set as this model is very trade and at shops since 2006 or 2007.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post.

There's a selection on that screen for "last known good configuration" - try that, sometimes a driver that has been recently installed can cause a machine to crash on boot. If that doesn't help, you can attempt to boot from the installation CD that came with the computer and repair the system. Boot from the install CD, select ENTER in order to continue with the setup program (trust me, we're not going to do a full setup, but you have to choose the first option here...). More files will load from the CD - the next screen should be the repair screen - it should say "To repair the selected Windows XP installation, press R" - press R, and the repair should begin. Reboot after it's done.

Please rate this answer if it's helped you out, thanks!!

I cannot restore my 5th generation 30 gig ipod

HI

Try this out

Disconnect and reconnect your iPod and then attempt to restore.
  • Restart your computer and then attempt to restore your iPod.
  • Disable or Enable Disk Use on your iPod and then attempt to restore.
  • Try connecting your iPod to a different USB port and then attempt to restore.
  • Remove any third-party USB devices you have connected to your computer (it is not necessary to remove your keyboard or mouse).
then try this out

  1. Disconnect the iPod from the computer and close iTunes.
  2. Highlight all of the following 10 lines of text that begin with regsvr32 and then choose Copy from the Edit menu of your web browser: regsvr32 /s softpub.dll
    regsvr32 /s wintrust.dll
    regsvr32 /s dssenh.dll
    regsvr32 /s rsaenh.dll
    regsvr32 /s gpkcsp.dll
    regsvr32 /s sccbase.dll
    regsvr32 /s slbcsp.dll
    regsvr32 /s mssip32.dll
    regsvr32 /s cryptdlg.dll
    regsvr32 /s initpki.dll

  3. Open the Notepad program by navigating to:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad
  4. In Notepad, choose Paste from the Edit menu. Note: make sure that the text that appears in Notepad is the same as what is shown above.
  5. From the File menu, choose Save As.
  6. In the File name: field type appleipod.bat and save the file to the Desktop.
  7. Close Notepad and locate the appleipod.bat file. It should appear on the Desktop with the icon shown below: ts1539_1.jpg
  8. Double-click the file and you will see a black window appear on the screen for about a minute. Wait until the window automatically disappears and proceed to the next step.
  9. The appleipod.bat file can be deleted at this time.
  10. Open iTunes and connect the iPod.
  11. When the iPod appears in iTunes, restore the iPod and resync your content.
this should work fine
