Question about Fuji FinePix A920 Digital Camera
I am in need of a replacement screen for my Fujifim A920, Would you be able to tell me where I could purchase one from?
I would like to keep the cost of this repair as little as possible, hence the reason I am willing to repair the product myself.
I have found on the Fujifilm website that repair cost for my camera will be £53.00, Almost the cost of a new camera.
If you also know of any other repair centres in my area it would be very much appreciated if you could inform me. I live in the Blackpool area of England, UK.
Any help would be much appreciated,
You might get one on Ebay or Amazon, but very few manufacturers will supply spares to non-registered repairers. As you say, might be cheaper to get a newer, more up-to-date camera

Possibly search ebay for broken cameras of the same make or replacement parts. Fuji's contact center may sell parts or possibly fix your camera for free.

Remove the battery and leave the door open. The door operates a micro switch to shut power off to the camera.
Once you have a tri-wing screw driver start by removing the three tri-wing screws first. These should be located on the side where the hand strap is attached. Then you can undo the rest of the screws ( 5 on the bottom and 2 on the other side). Now pull the cowl away from the side of the camera with the hand strap. It should just unclip when you pull it. This should reveal the side of the two outer cases. The rear case is still attached on this side by a small screw and two more on the top by the zoom / picture button. Once these are removed lift the rear case up from the other end first so that you can release the ribbon for the keypad or just flip it over so that it lays flat next to the camera but still attached by the ribbon. the screen should now be visible but you may have to flip this over so that you can remove the bracket for the screen (the socket is visible underneath it and you can remove the screen with the bracket inplace but I find it easier to remove the bracket).
Be very careful when you lift the bracket clear as it is close to the flash and while the camera is off (and with the battery removed and the door open) the flash is still charged and can give quite a shock!
Now all you have to do is release the locking tab on the socket for the screen and remove the ribbon and then replace with the new one. Then reassmble the camera

It is difficult to repair the screen yourself, even if you can get the part. You need a repair manual to get into it. They are built like a puzzle.
