Check fuse on the internal control board, should look like a small automotive fuse.

If you do not have a VOM or know how to use one STOP here and call someone in that does.

If you don't know what a VOM is with out looking it up then you have gone too far and still need to call someone one that can help

Could be the main control board.

Could be that somebody has been messing with the dipswitches beneath the control board.

How do I hook up remote thermostat to LG LP120CED?

Some thermostats have a five minuter time delay to protect the A/C when power fails. Some units also have a time delay, if so both must be satisfied before it will start.

Was baking at 450 degrees and entire unit went dead. Confirmed outlet power is ok. Took off front grill but can't see anything obvious. Can see a fuse, could that be blown??

Yes! The fuse is usually the most common problem. It is usually a 15 amp Cerramic fuse (white in color). Appliance parts places usually carry them, for a buck or two.
Best of luck.

Blown fuse in Air Handler. It should be on the fan board inside the unit. 5 amp auto fuse replaces it and it will be ok. Russ. Happens all the time dont worry about it

My GE advantium microwave oven 220 out of no where just quit working , no power to it all, digital light for time ect just went dead while rewarming up a bag of steam green beans. Theres wasnt a ...

A microwave can be dead for many reasons.

It may be the fuse, which is usually located behind the grille or on the floor of the oven behind the control panel or between the door switches.

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout (TCO) / thermal fuse on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

If it goes dead for a while during or after cooking then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing the magnetron thermostat to open.

Then when it cools, it closes the circuit and allows power through again.

When checking TCOs or thermostats, if it has a hood fan thermostat, that should read open, as opposed to the others, which should read closed.

If the cavity thermostat needs to be checked or replaced you'll need to pull the oven from the wall.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker (or GFI) when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder, or even an intermittent fuse.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

If you'd want to scan and e-mail or copy and fax the mini-manual (or at least the "schematic diagram page) to me, I'd be happy to make more precise suggestions.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Zoneline PTAC short circuit

Most likely you will need to either replace transformer or there may be a low voltage flat type "car fuse" usually 3 amp or 5 amp for just such an occasion. Good luck!

PTAC UNIT QUIT WORKING

If you have a clamp tester, operate the unit with the clamp tester and check the current reading. If the current reading is normal but the reset button is tipped then there is something wrong withe power plug reset button. But if the current reading is higher than the name plate rating then there is something wrong with the unit.
