If it leaked once it will leak again. pick up a can of Super Seal and some more refrigerant, follow the instructions CAREFULLY to avoid damaging the system. if it is still leaking after that, some components in your A/C system may need replaced. I would recommend getting at least one can of refrigerant with UV dye in it to put in after the super seal, it will make it easier to find the leak if the sealer doesn't fix it.
If you going to keep the car have a a/c man put in new seals. a good a/c man want charge you a arm and a leg. i do it all time seals dry out in the winter over time and a good fix will last a long time. get prices first. alot of fly by night a.c men out there and could make you problem worse i would check them out
SOURCE: 99 STS AC is blowing hot air
I had the same problem but it was blowing hot air on the passenger side of the car. I assume you have the dual zone controls that I have as well. The problem is most likely the damper that controls the flow of hot and cold air into the car. The motorized component of the damper is most likely not working and its stuck in the hot air position.
I had mine replaced by a repair shop so I cant tell you how to replace it but it may be something that you can do if you have the time and patience to work on it.
Good luck
SOURCE: Have put freon in a/c and it is full and not
very easy, hook up your freon can,
disconnect your battery and let the car sit there for about
5 mins, hook the battery back up,
(try to have someone to help you with this part)
start the car and crank the ac all the way,
as soon as you do that have the other person or yourself if youre that quick start filling up with the freon.
that worked for me.
SOURCE: a/c blowing out hot/room temp air
not possible to be full of freon and have leak, freon will never break down in a sealed system
SOURCE: FREON WILL NOT HOLD IN 98 DEVILLE AND AIR WILL NOT BLOW OUT OF VENTS
the vacuum lines the control your vents might have wiggled loose or have a leak, same for the hot cold mix
