Question about Intel Celeron -D 2.26Ghz Computer System PC Desktop
I need to replace an AK33Gold motherboard but need to keep my old drives. Just bought a new Western Digital 320 gig hard drive a few weeks ago and also am not yet ready to give up my 3.5 drive (call me lod fashioned, but I still havd some old data disks I haven't transfered.
What would you recommend product and procedure wise?
Athlon 64 mainboards are pretty cheap right now, as are Intel Dual Core CPU's and mainboards. Some of the newer boards do not even have a FD header on them, so if you want to go that way just pick up a USB floppy drive. Shouldn't cost more than about $15.
For a real bargain, check out socket 478 (intel) and socket 754 (AMD) combos. They can be an excellent deal. I buy most of my stuff @ newegg.com

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to boot
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA
the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
