You might have a bad green convergence output IC either loose from the circuit board or open internally OR shorted. Stargazer

Green color seperation multiple images convergence will not fix

Your TV most likely a convergence failure. ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses. Its a fairly easy DIY job or you can call in a pro. If you want to do the repair yourself check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

Screen hazzy and issue with blue convergence

bad convergence would cause show to look as if it was supposed to be a 3-d movie, if a bulb was going out then people would look purple blue -green,or some other off color, so likely the green bulb is going out from the color of the people you described.

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You have a componet out of tolerance in the green drive circuits, resistor or capacitor. If you have the service manual you should be able to take some raedings off the test points for the circuit and be able to track it down. I am enclosing a link where you can purchase the service manual for that set for 10.99. They will mail it to you unless you go back to the site and request that they email it to you by clicking on the contact us link. They also offer unlimited free support if you purchase your manual. I am one of their support techs. Hope this helps. Heres the link
