SOURCE: VCR POWER ON PROBLEM

On vcr power supplies usually first component to go is a capacitor, check if its blown, or test it if you have a meter capable, next check diodes and resistors, also check the resistors and diodes on all the boards( they may have blown if a cap has blown) If there was smoke or a smell its usually a resistor to look for. When you replace them replace them with a higher votage cap.. Example 15v 1000uF cap with a 25v -35v 1000uF cap( this is just to avoid the problem from happening again.

wow intermittants are tough to find , the only way ive ever been sucessfull at it is to temp bypass each sensor (lie to controller) to see if it continues to run ,I do not recomend leaving any thing bypassed and not physicaly monitoring it ,
this temp bypassing is for only the most experienced techs that know normal state of sensors and can simultate them with off machine items

MY Samsung LN32A330 Tv wont turn on

Pretty simple TVs have two boards in them , power board and mainboard. Usually they have bad power boards.
Or just bad capacitors on the power board.
The boards cost about $75-$125 each, tech labor $150
Good TVs easy to fix, but paying a tech may cost more than a new set.
Start a chat if you want part#s and further details
Thanks

Power Supply

I fixed my Akai LCT3201AD in about 30mins. using 3 small parts from Radio Shack. Once I got the back off, I found the power supply board (PSB), mine was part# MLT-169B rev1.2. I looked at the capacitors (caps.) first, because they are usually easy to diagnose. I noticed the caps. bubbled out on the top of the board (where all the cables connect to it). There is 3 of them in a row, positioned between the two large heatsinks. My guess is that the heatsinks are generating a LOT of heat over time, because of bad ventilation, and causing the caps. to fail.
I went to Radio Shack and found 3 caps. (only had 3 in stock). The original ones were 16V-1000uF, Radio Shack only carried 35V and 50V in the 1000uF caps., so I bought the 35V ones and headed home, I removed the old caps. from the board, and installed the new ones. The 35V caps, are a little bigger, so its a tighter fit on the board, be careful. It took longer to remove the back from the TV than it did to do the soldering. YouTube.com has excellent videos on how to de-solder caps. on PSB's.

Total money spent on repairs:
$1.59 ea for 3 Caps. (part# 272-1032) $4.77
$2.99 for new soldering iron tip + $2.99
$1.00 donation for St. Jude's + $1.00
Total including tax $9.30

So for less than $10, I did a repair that my local TV repair shop wanted $575 for. Online stores want anywhere from $100-$275 for a PSB. If I get another 2 yrs out of it that's well worth $10.

I bought a ps3 from china, got the converter and everything but the ps3 turns green and den quickly back to red

It sounds like it's a major system failure. If you just got it, Sony will honor the warranty and fix it or replace it. As far as I know, there is no fix for this. Myself and a couple other techs have tried MANY repairs for machines like this. I have found that the problem lies within the mother board. Sorry about that. Good luck to you.
