all in one day my screen started by showing a u look at top and bottom. all three colors kind of separated from each other and therefore made shadows on all the writing and double and triple vision on people and images. then it drawed in from sides and showed some black. then it popped in the back and no picture. the sound then came back on with no picture. so i shut it off and unplugged it. what do i have to get to fix this? thank you, Robert Hopkins
the ics could have been defective, or maybe you missed a resistor or something. the ics could short out and cause the tv to totally shutdown if dead shorted, as some of these have no fuses. I would doublecheck all your solder connections and make sure nothing is shorted out and look for other bad resistors. here is my tutorial if this helps http://www.fixya.com/support/r5001731-convergence_diagnosing_convergence Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Slight error in the alignment of a projection TV is pretty much normal. If the problem cannot be seen on a normal TV picture, I would not spend the money. However, if the problem is severe and causes colour double images, it is convergence and will need parts replaced - about $200-$600 depending on service call, parts, labour, etc. Minor adjustment takes a skilled technician. attempting it yourself will likely cause the set to stop functioning. (Digital adjustment is not forgiving)
One or more colors can't be adjusted when when using the convergence menu. Screen is bowed in but stationary.
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit inlcludes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself. Its an easy fix.
