You might just need to replace your fuel pump. If you can hear the pump run, I'm not sure what pulling the fuse is supposed to do for you? The pump is just an electric motor, it either runs or it doesn't.
First off check the fuel Injectors fuel filter and air filter as for the white smoke sounds like you're burning oil if you ran out of gas the sediment at the bottom of the tank goes in to you're fuel system
Instead of blowin all your money on it replaceing stuff that does not have to do with the problem, Take it to some one that noes what in the hell there doing, Unless you like burning your money,
have the fuel filter changed and have the computer checked for codes incase something else is going on and they can be cleared to turn off the light.any dirt in the lines should be out of them by now.its possible that there is dirt in the injectors and a fuel system service should be done to clean them which is a recomended service on all cars anyways.you can have the fuel pressure checked while its in the shop to make sure the pressure is within specs.
Disconnect fuel filter near tank and turn on, if you still hear the pump pulse and nothing comes out, a good chance that little 3" hose between pump and pick-up tube came off. Also, make sure it wasn't ran dry. There is no bleeding. Check the fuel rail schrader valve if you have fuel at the fuel filter. Good luck, will check on you later.......
The rebuilder may have move the jet needle position clip. Take the top off the carb and pull out the slide. Remove the needle and then move the clip to position 5 from the top. Try it noe. What you did was to provide a richer mid-range fuel mix. Hope this helps.
Pull the carburetor and clean it for staters.Be sure to change oil any little bit of moisture in the crankcase will let it smoke white by seeping by the valves and piston rings. Also put a little small amount of dry gas in the gas tank to rid all of the water that may have been left in the tank. I some of this will help you.
you probably ran it to low and sucked some trash out of the tank. try changing the fuel filter or put some gas in it because the little fuel you had in it probably evaporated over night.
