I have a RU42PZ61 and when looking at the TV the left hand side has different color vertical lines. When you first turn on TV all is well but after a few minutes it goes to half the screen again. Seems like alot of other problems posted include lines on the screen. Is this a manufactor defect?

I hate to give you bad news but I believe this will be a panel issue and it's not going to be fixable. You can try a different tcon board but I don't think it will help

THIS set uses 2 boards inside--one drives the left and the other the right side of the screen.
You have to id which is which (GOOGLE?) AND replace it-every brand has different names for these but it sounds like your problem
Some research (you or me) should give a board breakdown for this model---not looking for main or power board but another like sustain etc. and there will be 2 listed (for right and the left sides)
I had the same issue. I could get the tv to work intermittantly by pressing on the boards while playing. This points to bad solder joint, so I resoldered every molex plug connector, and it nows works like a charm.
you have a problem with your "buffer" boards inside your tv. there are several different ( 4 or 5 ) ones inside. it may also be your controller board, only a tv service technician will be able to answer this question after a look see
