Hi,
This could be a virus! Did you try to change the homepage?
If this is a virus, even if they change the main page will re-appear.
Then run Spybot, CCleaner, Ad-aware and Anti-Virus.

Try a scan with your virus scan, then with a malware scanner, i use Malwarebytes.
I would then use CCleaner, use the registry cleaner also.
This will clean out all your temp files, and remove any registry errors that may be causing IE from starting properly.
You could also use Firefox, or chrome as your browser if this does not fix it

Blank page when opening a new tab in IE 8. I reset advanced options, didn't work. Do I need to check a box in there

Access the Internet Options dialog box. If the menu bar is visible, you can select "Tools" - "Internet Options".

If the Command Bar is visible, click the "Tools" button and select "Internet Options". If neither are available, try typing Alt + T then O.

When the "Internet Options" dialog box appears, underneath "Tabs", click the "Settings" button.

The "Tabbed Browsing Settings" dialog box appears. Underneath "When a new tab is opened, open" click the pull-down and choose from any one of the following options:
    • * A blank page
    • * The new tab page
    • * Your first home page
Click "OK" on the dialog boxes to store your settings.
