It has a metal fitting then the rubber line, but at very top a nut--that seems impossible to get to unless tank is out. Maybe a specila open in wrench maybe?
SOURCE: Gas tank door
I had one gas door solenoid replaced under warranty. Since then I have just shot a bit of WD40 onto the post comng from the solenoid that holds the door closed. Do this at each oil change and the problems should stop.

sound like you have a fuel pump going bad in the tank.
SOURCE: Flare nut wrench size?
try metric size. a flare wrench is an closed end wrench with a little **** in big enough to to slide over the line and then around the bolt its grabs mor of the bolt than a regular wrench
SOURCE: Fuel problem 1998 cadillac deville
I read somewhere that the fuel pump is lubricated by the Gasoline. It warned to never run out of gas with these Cadillacs. It may need a new fuel filter now.
The junk may have collected in your fuel filter?
Someone posted they had there fuel pump quit after running out of gas 3 weeks later. Try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes first to see if it is actually the Anti-theft system.
SOURCE: Gas line is leaking.
You want to be very careful not to make any sparks while working on this. The obvious is smoking, banging metal tools around, etc. keep cell phones AWAY from the area. Pick up some rubber fuel line from the parts store. Be prepared for some gas leakage, have a plastic pan under the leak. Disconnect the line at the tank, have a piece of new hose ready to push on over the line to as close to the tank as you can, have the end away from the tank plugged up temporarily with a pencil or something that fits snug in it, then remove the rubber hose on the filter, and connect new line from tank to filter, check for leaks, hopefully it is the rubber line you replaced, or the end of the metal line, so the new hose will hopefully cover the corroded leaking area. Clamp and Dry off area and see if you can spot any leaks.
