How do u get the gas line coming out of the bottom of the tank-- off? Do u have to take gas tank out to get to it?

It has a metal fitting then the rubber line, but at very top a nut--that seems impossible to get to unless tank is out. Maybe a specila open in wrench maybe?

I had one gas door solenoid replaced under warranty. Since then I have just shot a bit of WD40 onto the post comng from the solenoid that holds the door closed. Do this at each oil change and the problems should stop.

SOURCE: Fuel problem 1998 cadillac deville

I read somewhere that the fuel pump is lubricated by the Gasoline. It warned to never run out of gas with these Cadillacs. It may need a new fuel filter now.

The junk may have collected in your fuel filter?

Someone posted they had there fuel pump quit after running out of gas 3 weeks later. Try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes first to see if it is actually the Anti-theft system.

SOURCE: Gas line is leaking.

You want to be very careful not to make any sparks while working on this. The obvious is smoking, banging metal tools around, etc. keep cell phones AWAY from the area. Pick up some rubber fuel line from the parts store. Be prepared for some gas leakage, have a plastic pan under the leak. Disconnect the line at the tank, have a piece of new hose ready to push on over the line to as close to the tank as you can, have the end away from the tank plugged up temporarily with a pencil or something that fits snug in it, then remove the rubber hose on the filter, and connect new line from tank to filter, check for leaks, hopefully it is the rubber line you replaced, or the end of the metal line, so the new hose will hopefully cover the corroded leaking area. Clamp and Dry off area and see if you can spot any leaks.

Two different procedures may be used to drain fuel tank: through the fuel fill fitting on tank, or using a diagnostic scan tool. (YOU DO NOT HAVE TOOL)
The quickest draining procedure involves removing the rubber fuel fill hose (3) from fuel tank fitting (7).

1. Release fuel system pressure.(PRESSURE IZED LINES GOING FRONT)
2. Raise vehicle.
3. Thoroughly clean area around fuel fill fitting (7) and rubber fuel fill hose (3) at rear of fuel tank (8).
4. Loosen clamp (9) at tank fitting (7) and disconnect rubber fuel fill hose at fuel tank fitting. Using an approved gas
holding tank, drain fuel tank through this fitting.
Loosen clamp (9) and disconnect rubber fill hose (3) at tank fitting (7).
2. At rear of tank, disconnect fuel pump module electrical jumper connector (5) from body connector (6).
3. At rear of tank, disconnect EVAP lines (2) and (3) from lines (1) and (4).
4. At front of tank, disconnect fuel and EVAP lines (9) and (10) from lines (11) and (12).
5. Support tank with a hydraulic jack.
6. Remove bolts (1) and (2) at right side of fuel tank.
7. Remove bolts (3) at left side of fuel tank.
8. Lower tank for removal.
9. If fuel tank is to be replaced, remove fuel pump module from tank. Refer to Fuel Pump Module Removal/Instal-
lation procedures

91 Buick lesabre fuel leak. What are the 5 metal lines running below the driver door? The larger center one is leaking fuel.

Only two are fuel lines, the main feed to the engine and the return line from the engine to the tank. One other gas tank line will be the EVAP line for sending gas tank fumes from the charcoal canister to the engine's intake manifold.
I think the other lines would be your brake lines to the rear wheels.

YouTube has many videos on repairing rusted fuel lines. Most people use the lines made of plastic in their repairs-takes special fittings though. These plastic lines have become very common now. In fact my '92 LeSabre has mostly plastic lines.

How to drain a2005 f 150 gas tank, bad fuel

The best way to drain the tank would be by removing the filler neck hose going to the tank and then using a small hose to insert into the tank going into the neck.the reason for a small hose or a piece of metal line like a brake line and then slide a long piece of rubber hose over the line about one foot and clamp it tight to line, the next step is to one; put a slice or small cut about 3 inches from the end of the rubber hose and if you have an air nozzle push it into cut on line and blow air into it, this will make vacuum and fuel will start to flow out of hose.
With out an air nozzle you will have to **** on end of hose to get it to flow,CAUTION DONT GET GAS IN MOUTH!!!!!.With the metal line you will need to get it past the ball in the neck of tank, this is the reason i said to use a small metal line, you will need to bend it and move around to get past ball. slide into tank to hit bottom. DONT MARK SPARKS!!,
i DO IT THIS WAY ALL THE TIME, DONT MAKE FAST STROKES GETTING INTO TANK.
The other way is to drop tank and remove the fuel pump assm and then drain threw the top hole that pump sits into. hope this is helpful. good day.

GAS will leak out. lower the tank to the ground and slide out from under truck. remove any debris from the tank. you heed a aluminum flat drive bar and brass mallet. brass and aluminum will not spark. there is a metal ring that compresses the gasket. there is a plastic tang open.have helper hold it open. you need to move the outside metal ring counterclockwise till the ring is released. hit the metal flat edges of the ring. alternating on them until the ring unseats. pull the pump up on an angle replace pupm. good luck

I have a 1990 Chevy short wheels base truck, actualy it's a SS 454 edition, and the brake line to the rear is rusted and has a hole in it right above the gas tank. How is the best way to fix it?

Take a pair of cutters and cut the rusted line on both sides of the gas tank and at the fitting for the rubber hose going to the axle. Pull the line out from behind the tank (it is in plastic retainers so it may be hard but just pull, it will come). There should be a union near the front somewhere, cut the line there also. Use a roll of new bulk steel line and a DOUBLE flaring tool and the necessary fittings. Put the fitting for the rear on the line and flare it, tape the fitting to the line so it doesn't move while installing. Now roll some line out straight and fish it through between the tank and frame making any bends you need as you go. Bend line as needed and attach rear fitting to axle hose. Then cut, install fitting and flare front of line where needed. Attach front of line and bleed the system.

Replace the fuel filter

I just took my car to the shop to have them do it because I am lazy. They said that it is inside the tank and it is better changed the same time as the pump.

Fuel filter 2003 malibu

The fuel filter is located on the fuel feed pipe, between the fuel pump and the fuel injectors. It will be a Metallic tube like item about 4 inches long inline with your fuel supply (feed) line. If you can lift vehicle or get underneath it, then find your gas tank, find the line coming from top of your gas tank and trace it out. Filter is uaully within a few feet of the gas tank.
