just start over and buy a motherboard and processor and memory and plug your stuff into it. you will need an operating system because the emachines operating system only workes with an emachines motherboard. emachines is the cheap brand from gateway and i have had nothing but trouble with those machines. Hope this helps and good luck
Most probably the keyboard has konked out. Simply try the same with a working keyboard & mouse, 'cos it seems to get stuck during POST(power on self test) due to one or more components malfunctioning. If you had removed the PS2 jacks recently, check for bent pins too.................sodeep
You can test the power button. Remove the wires from the power on pins on the motherboard. Momentarily jump the two pins with a small screwdriver. If the computer starts the power button is bad. If it still doesn't start then something else is wrong. Did you test the memory? Also do all of the fans work, especially the CPU fan? It can't hurt to test with the other PSU. You know the HDD is good. Test one piece of hardware at a time and hopefully you will find the problem.
