Lense stuck in out position

yes, there is a battery,to keep the settings,rarely it happens,open the camera see for a button cell replace it.

Take a look at this.

remove the xdcard and use compact flash. also put camera in set mode and run the battery drain function. it seems to reset the battery voltage meter. clean batery contacts with q-tip and rubbing alcohol. worked for me

Turn Camera on, Turn Dial to SET and scroll down on the screen to reset

TURN IT ON TO TAKE A PICTURE WAIT 5 SECONDS, THEN TURN IT OFF IF IT STAYS IN THE OUT POSITION THEN THE DRIVE MOTOR MY HAVE GONE

Hi Sandra, Try power reset for your camera. Turn the camera on, and without turning the camera off, open the battery door and take the batteries out. Leave it for a minute or two. This helps camera get reset and helps correct the basic functionality and also zoom error. Hope it helps u otherwise u will have to take it to authorised repair center. Good Luck.

You Can not put additional flash on S5600, S5700 and S5800.

I just then took the previous posts idea and pulled the lense off and cleaned light sand out of it , extended lense as told, put back together and turned on.so far focus seems good

Try it with a different set of battery. It is possible that one of your battery is "dead" or close to it, and the camera shuts down.

You have to find the bad battery.

It worked for me.
