Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Hi Millerc,
Don't worry, there's no fee for this solution, you only pay for Premium Solutions, and your problem was posted as a normal, 'free' one.
Your problem has few answers online but I'll advise you as best as I can.
Code 10 probably indicates a hardware error, or 'Device not present',
so turn it off and on again, check the cable to the PC, ensure the
Scanner driver in your Device Manager (in Control Panel > System) is
working properly, and if you have ever burned a disk from it, did you
use Roxio Direct CD software? Roxio drivers are notorious for causing
device conflicts.
I found a picture of the scanner that says it has been replaced by another model:
So I don't think there is support for it anymore, and the closest user
manual I could find to your model was for the CD-4046 and was only
available for $8.50!
So, I can only suggest resetting it, running any onboard diagnostic tests etc.
If you can manage to do a manual scan, that will isolate the problem to
the sending of the image to the computer.. meaning that the code 10
error could refer to something on there, which would at least be more
easily rectified.
If the Error 10 window provides anymore information whatsoever, please post a description here, and I'll look over it and try to give you a second opinion. Let me know how you get on anyway..
Good Luck :)

Hi again,
I'm running Vista, so in my recycle bin, I have to press Organise > Folder and Search Options, ckick the View tab, and tick the Show Hidden Files and Folders box, and Apply.
If you're on XP just find the Folder Options or the Properties listing or whatever, somewhere in the Recycle Bin toolbar. Just to the same thing in the Folder Options window View tab. Then Restore All Items. Then maybe a reboot might be necessary..
If it was a SCSI device issue that's related to the scanner, though, then how was the driver installed in the first place? Maybe automatically with your operating system? Like a generic driver or something? If that is so, then maybe you could try rebooting with a Windows disk (type F8 on startup to enter the BIOS and set cd-rom as 1st boot device) and doing a 'System Repair'?
That would load any default SCSI devices and might let the computer recognise the scanner once more?
Just an idea, and can't hurt to try..
Hope you can make some progress with that..

Please disregard. I didn't realize there was a fee for doing this.
so you say I am already being charged for this even no action has been taken?
I have already tried to reset it and I have done everything I can think of. I went into the device area and found the one file that wasn't working properly. It says SCSI Controllers - Status - not present, not properly working or does not have all the drivers installed. Code 10
When I was running the diagnostic test at one point I think I may have deleted a file accidently. What I want to do is going into the recycle bin to see if there is a deleted file there. I have found the recycle bin and there are three files in it but I can't see them to work with them. Any suggestions?
The program I am using was already in the machine. I use a little monitor that came with it so it is not on my regular computer. It looks like it is Windows. I can find the Recycle Bin but I can click on it to open it. When I look at the properties, then I can see that it has three files in it but I can't see what they are. I don't have a windows disk to use to reboot it. Does it sound like a lost cause? Right now it will not completely load so I can't do anything in it.
You can post without paying .. it might not get acted on as fast thats all .. repost
What is the operating system you are suing?
