Green rust in the game slot of a DS

My daughter put water in the game slot of her DS. Now it has this green rust on the copper prongs and some of her games. Is there a way to fix this or are we stuck buying a new one?

I have fixed this several times and have had great results.

I take the back off, being careful not to break the very delicate power switch.
Then I take a cheap paint brush and 91% alcohol and gently rub behind the prongs until I have it all broke up and removed. Then I take a can of air and slowly dry the board off. I'm careful not to tip the can because then your spraying liquid air on the board and the extreme cold can damage the circuits.
it is a very delicate procedure, but I have had amazing results.
I'd be happy to do it for you

Ds does not recognise R4

Try eject, blow into the port then reinsert. There is a possibility that your ds has blocked the r4 from being used on that ds.
