Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3t Cellular Phone

Holding a charge

The battery dose not hold a charge. I have tried several batteries. I can charge the phone then turn the power off with a complete charge. It will hold the charge at least day 2 . but when left on, i may get 4 hours use from it. I am sure it is a bad connection, or a charging port problem. Has anyone been through this? If so, I would love some feedback. Or if anyone has a diagram of the phone that would be great.
thank you

I tried to make it easy to understand. This phone can be fully charged.
As soon as i power it on, the battery will start to drain. If ir is in my pocket without even making 1 call. It eill be completely dead within 4 hours. It will charge, but does not hold a charge. Uf it is fully charged and I start talking on it. i aam lucky to get 15 minutes before it starts beeping. thank you

Although I realise I am necromancing a dead thread that is almost x amount of years old, I feel it's fair to comment I have gotten given one of these ancient and long forgotten mobile phones which where so customisable with the right phone hacking knowledge back in its hey-day and yeap I have the same problem the phone comes up as locked to the provider, locked and no charge, funny how if you remove the providers SIM suddenly the phone registers a full charge. Dodgy manufacturer firmware.. REFLASH

Their website says only 6 hours of talk time for that battery. Could be that's all your gonna get from it. Every phone I've ever owned has needed to be recharged every other day and sooner if it's used more.

I connect the charger of my htc hero. at first it was charging. after an hour i noticed that it stopped from charging. when i turned on my phone it didn,t open.

Open the back cover , take the battery out . Press and hold the power button without the battery . Put the battery back in . Try to power it on .
If that doesnt work try below steps , ( note : you will loose your data )
Power the device OFF. Press and hold the HOME and Back Arrow buttons. While holding these buttons, press the End Call button once. Release the Home and Back Arrow buttons and press the Trackball to execute the Hard Reset. The device will reboot once the process is complete.
Thumps for my solution if it works .

My phone is not holding a charge. It seems completely dead, and when I try and charge it it flashes sporodically and vibrates for a second or two before dying again

Hello,

When your phone tries to come on and goes back off after vibrating for a second or two.

This is due to the fact that the battery is completely dead and is trying to pick up when you plugged it to the charger.

Try to charge the battery of your phone in another phone before fixing it back into your phone.

turn it on before trying to charge it again.

make sure the battery never runs out before you charge it back.

take care

My phone won't hold a charge. Do I need a new battery?

Most likely yes, try taking the battery all the way out and putting it back in. Also, allow the battery to drain completely and then charge from there. If it never gets a chance to drain completely this can cause problems.

If after these two steps it still isn't holding a charge then you will need a new battery.

Thanks

ok i had this isssue and figure out what to do. this is all afterm you know that you have a good charger and or battery.

1. completely turn of phone unplug charger.
2. take and put battery back in phone and plug charger.
3. hold hit camera button and power buton. phone will come on if the update was washed it will come straight on. if not you will see the blue LED dont worry yet. just keep holding for 15 sec.
4. while phone blue LED is still on hit and hold (drum Role) menu and track ball for 15 sec.
5. now unplug charger and take out battery. wait 10 sec
6. now put battery back in and leave charger off. and turn on. unless you was in middle of update and hardware failed this WILL bring your G1 back up and running.

hope this helps everyone . MIll$tronics signing out.

Can't get the power on...

I would try a new battery. How old is the battery? Your probably right about the battery not holding a charge.

Powered off

Plug it in and charge the battery. You should be able to turn it on while it is charging by pressing the power button. If it doesn't respond right away try holding down the power button until it turns on (well, at least 10 seconds or so). It is possible that the battery lost it's charge completely, but that's unlikely unless you have run it dry multiple times.
