I am experiencing the same problem.  I've tried the basics like pulling out the battery, but have no other ideas.

I have this buzzing, too. The calls start out clear, but after talking for about 5 minutes the buzzing starts.

My curve used to be as clear as a bell but now fairly consistently buzzes during calls.  I was wondering if my battery is maybe at the end of its useful life?  No other clue.

The buzzing on my 8300 is the same as previous posters. Even after I upgraded firmware to 4.5.

i got this after I put in a supposedly new battery. so most likely it could be a defective battery.

The speaker could need replacing, take it to a mobile service shop and have it looked at.

Rf interference, or a buzzing noise during calls

Depending on your frequency you could possiably be to close to a fax machine or other devices that are causing the issue. This is not uncommon with some carriers.

Blackberry Curve loud static when making calls

Very common problem with 8300 series. My phone started doing it too. Don't mess with the OS. That's a last resort thing. The cause/solution that seems to resolve it for most cases is replacing the battery. I picked up one on Ebay for $7 INCLUDING shipping.
Phone now charges to 100% and stays there for a while as opposed to
dropping to 60% quickly. SO far my phone is behaving. One thing I noticed is that if I used the phone with the charger still plugged in, the phone did not shut off which was yet another indicator that is was power related. It is sad that most of the responses from Blackberry give the impression that this problem seems new to them and that it is probably a hardware problem and you need to take it in, as opposed to just saying that this is a common occurance... try replacing the battery and if that does not fix it THEN bring it in for repair...

BlackBerry 8310 making RF interfernce noise...

I am having the same problem with my phone. When you hook the charger up to the phone the static should go away. I have purchased a new battery and after it charges for the 12 hours i am going to test it out. I will let you know.

My blackberry keeps shutting itself down and restarting at least two or three times a day. called my phone company and they just act like im making it up

I know you are not making it up. I had a blackberry curve that would do the same thing. Every time when I was talking on the phone and an email or text would come through my phone would shut off and turn back on, and go through this reboot thing for a long time. I got a different phone from my boss and it never did that. Call Blackberry and report it to them. I know I did and they'd never heard of it, but they didn't treat me like I was crazy. Maybe they can help?

Every time I make a phone call My blackberry has a strange symbol

The icon is an indicator for the Enhance Call Audio feature selected on the device. The Enhance Call Audio feature is designed to allow a user to adjust the sound quality over the earpiece of the device (e.g. Boost Bass or Boost Treble)

To improve sound quality for all phone calls, complete the following steps:
  1. In the Phone application, display the menu and select Options.
  2. Click General Options.
  3. Change the Enhance Handset Call Audio or Enhance Headset Call Audio field.
  4. Display the menu and select Save.
To improve sound quality during a phone call, complete the following steps:

1. During a phone call, display the menu and select Enhance Call Audio.
2. Select Boost Bass, Boost Treble or Normal.

To review the different Selectable Phone Equalizers during a phone call, press the L key. The enhancement specific icons are displayed on the active call screen.

Hand held is locked

Call your cell phone provider to get it reset. It doesn't delete the data from the phone but it will lock it from use until you call your cell phone carrier.

Sounds like a software problem.

Upgrade your handset software and remove all applications during process so the upgrade replaces all existing apps with new ones.
