Question about Samsung SYNC SGH-A707 Cellular Phone

Cannot dial out/press any key

I restarted my phone but it is not taking any key presses. So, cannot dial out at all. I do receive calls but I can't answer them, as I cannot press 'Accept' or 'Reject'. The side buttons are also not responding. Pls help!!!

When a call comes in and I transfer to my boss' extension, incoming calls do not come through, caller states phone keeps on ringing. Also on that same extension calls do not transfer to voice mail.


  • Begin the transfer. With the caller on the line, press the "Transfer" key. The caller will automatically be placed on hold and you will hear a dial tone.
  • Connect the caller to the other party. Dial the extension of the party you wish to reach. When you hear the extension ring or after you've announced the caller, complete the transfer by pressing "Transfer" a second time. If the person does not wish to receive the call, press "Release" to disconnect from the dialed extension. Press the key beside the flashing arrow on the LCD indicator where the various lines are displayed to return to the caller.
  • Cancel an incomplete transfer. If you make an error when dialing and need to retrieve the caller, simply press the key beside the flashing arrow on the LCD indicator.

  • Park an incoming call. Parking a call at a designated extension allows the recipient to answer the call from any phone in the facility. With the caller on the line, press the "Park" key twice. If your system designates a particular extension for parked calls, the caller will be held at that extension. Otherwise, the caller is held at your extension. To specify an extension for a parked call, press "Park," dial the desired extension and press "Park" a second time. Replace the handset.
  • Retrieve a parked call. On any system phone, press "Park" and dial the extension on which the call is parked. You will be connected to the caller.

Caller ID
If you subscribe to caller ID service, information about each caller appears after the first or second ring. If you answer a call before the caller information appears on the screen, it will not be saved in the caller ID log. The caller ID log stores up to 50 entries. Each entry has up to 24 digits for the phone number and 15 characters for the name. If the telephone number has more that 15 digits, only the last 15 digits appear. If the name has more than 15 characters, only the first 15 characters are shown and saved in the caller ID log. Review a caller ID log entry Press CID when the phone is not in use. Scroll to browse through the caller ID log. When the desired entry appears: Press repeatedly to show different dialing options. Press 1 repeatedly if you need to add or remove 1 in front of the phone number. Press or to dial the displayed number. Hi, You can use this instruction to activate and de-activate Call divert .Works on all phone


Turning Call Divert On

Step 1 Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.
Step 2 Press the Divert On button if using an Optus OneTouch phone, or dial *78 from any other touch tone phone.
Step 3 Listen for three beeps followed by a continuous tone.
Step 4 Dial the telephone number to which the calls are to be diverted.
Step 5 Listen for two short beeps, confirming the diversion.
Step 6 Replace the receiver


Turning Call Divert Off

Other Call Divert Options - Selective Calls
With selective call options, you can choose which numbers you wish to divert, accept or reject by adding these numbers to a list. You can list up to 30 numbers for each call option.

Turning On or Off Selective Call Options

Step1 Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone
Step2 Press the access code for the service you require. You will hear a prompt telling you the status of the service and how many telephone numbers you have on your list. To turn the service on/off press 3.

*68 for Selective Call Accept Dial
*60 for Selective Call Reject
Step3 For Selective Call Divert you will then hear the 'divert to' number that is currently entered. If this number is correct press 1. If it is incorrect, press 0, then re-enter the phone number you wish to have your calls diverted to. When turning this feature off dial 3 again.
Step 4 The feature is now on/off.
Step 5 Replace the receiver.


Note: You can divert calls to a local, national or mobile. However, you cannot divert calls to emergency, 0055, 1900, 008, 1800, 0050, 13, 1300 or international numbers.

RECEIVING THE CALL IS VERY SLOW,SOME TIMES IT IS RINGING SOMETIMES NOT (MAXIMUM TIME CALL RECEIVED WITHOUT RING TONE) OVER ALL OPERATION OF THE PHONE IS VERY SLOW

Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card (if possible).

Switch on your phone.

Press and hold these three keys together:
* Red dial key,
* Sharp key (#)
* One key (1)

Press the power on/off to swtich off the S60 phone. Do not let go the three keys until you see the "formatting" screen displayed

Wait a few minutes until the format is complete. Your phone will now be at its original factory settings

Before you format your phone, make sure you back up all your ringtones, SMS and picture messages and most importantly yout contacts. You can use the Nokia PC Suite to do this.

Once you've done this, key in *#7370# *#7780# . It will immediately prompt you to restart your phone.

Select 'Yes' and the phone will restart after formatting. It takes about 2 to 3 minutes to complete the process. Also ensure that your phone is well charged before you format.

To set date and time on your phone system you must first enter user programming mode.
Using a display phone with the receiver hung up.
Press PROGRAM
Dial ** 1234 (SYS PROG NO)
Dial 000 (DATE AND TIME)
Press SP-PHONE key once (display shows current date)
Normally this is correct if not dial the changes in with your keypad. Use the FWD\DND key to
move forward on the display and the CONF key to move backwards.
Press AUTO DIAL STORE (Confirmation tone)
Press SP-PHONE key once (display shows current time flashing on hour)
Dial new hour (Two digits) Use the FWD\DND key to move forward on the display and the
CONF key to move backwards. Dial in any changes and when your done:
Press AUTO DIAL STORE (Confirmation tone)
Press HOLD (SYS PROG NO)
Press PROGRAM
Your phone should be back to normal.

My phone is going to restart. And it is hang when i receive call or massage. pls tell me what is the problem and the problem is in mobile or SIM


Did you receive an unknown software via bluetooth?If you do and got it installed then probably your phone system is infected by a virus. What you will do is to format or deep reset your phone. To do this follow this instruction below.
- Press and hold this keys: * + 3 + green call key and then power on. Release the keys if the format screen will show or when you see a menu. Or simply dial this number *#7370# and default code is 12345.
- Take note: Format also your multimedia card. It contain also the virus. Use a card reader to do this.

But even though you know that your phone is not infected, still this solution can help you.

Swicth from tone to pulse


1) When the phone is in standby mode, press and hold the caller id/menu key.
2) Press the vol/ / key three times to select Dial.
3) Press the select key to toggle between Tone and Pulse.
4) Press the end key or return the handset to the base unit to complete the setting. The handset returns to standby mode.

This phone also has a feature that allows you to use Pulse dialing to make calls, but allows you to switch to tone dialing for automated systems (like “Please Press 1 for English) here are the steps for that:

Initially make your call with the pulse dialing mode. Once your call connects, press
the */tone key. Enter the desired number. These digits will be sent as tone dialing.
Once the call ends, the tone mode is canceled and pulse dialing mode resumes.

Calls go straight to voicemail


Your phone is fowarded to Voice Mail and do not disturb is on. Turn DND button off. If it is not the case on your phone press intercom # key 601 then hang up. Then do intercom #key 604, dial your voice mail extension numbe, r press the speed dial Select button, dial 16, press the redial button then hang up.

Missed calls


How do I view the numbers of calls made or received? space.gif space.gif answer.gif You can view the last ten calls that have been placed and the last ten calls which have been received in the Recent Calls option menu.
  • Press the Menu, Recent Calls and press the right soft key to select.
  • To view the calls you have received scroll to Received Calls and press the right soft key to select.
  • To view the calls which have been placed, scroll to Dialed Calls and press the right soft key to select.
  • Once in the Received or Dialed calls you can get more information such as the time the phone call was received/dialed by highlighting the call you want to view, and press the right soft key to view.
  • Scroll down to view all the available information.
In order to delete a received, or dialed call simply highlight the call you want to delete, press Menu and then select Delete. You can delete all the calls in the chosen section by selecting Delete All instead of just delete.
