Question about Honeywell Power Humidifier: Furnace Humidifier/ Humidifier

Open Question

I have a chronotherm III unit with zoned heating. First floor and second floor have their own unit with on/off controls. Basement unit and sunroom unit are "slave units" tied to the first floor master unit. These units have their own temperature control settings but are dependent on first floor unit for on/off control. Basement unit is set for heat at 62 but is heating up to as high as 78. Tried bypassing programming system (sleep, wake, leave, return) and setting it on "Hold" heat at 62. Doesn't help and what I found is that system automatically switches to a reading of "Hold-cool" and a setting of 65. I have had 2 HVAC companies look at the system. One suggested the "Hold" solution. They checked the dampers and said the thermostat was working. They now want to use a camera to see if the problem is deeper than they can see with the eye. By the way, the other "slave unit" in the sunroom (it's not sunny - I live in Pittsburgh!) also switches to Hold-cool after I set it to Hold heat. The temp in that room is also warmer than the setting.

If the dampers are installed properly, the should be able to nbe taken out with just the removal of a few screws for servicing. they should come out through the side or the bottom of the duct work. If you wish to attempt removal. please let me know. Steve

SOURCE: Thermostat - Honeywell Chronotherm III

What you can do is try and clean the contacts. Open the door on the thermistat and remove the two screws, after that you can seperate the part that is mounted to the wall and the front panel. Look at the part that is mounted on the wall and you'll see the contacts that should be a copper color. They might be black from age. Clean them and you'll be surprised how well it will work after that.

It would appear to me that you have lost the 24 volt power supply to the thermostat. In referencing the manuals for this thermostat, available @ www.honeywell.com, I've found that when the thermostat is not connected to the wall plate (plate mounted on the wall, that the thermostat either snaps or screws into), it will display the -AC. This being said, either the thermostat is loose on the wall currently, or your 24 volt transformer has died. Hope this helps.

Chronotherm Three thermostat vs Buderus Logamatic Computer.

The outdoor thermostat senses the the temp of the outside air, and adjust the boiler water temp according to what it knows is best. The reason that the boiler is running longer is the old boiler used to be constantly sending 180ish degree water to the baseboard, now that water may only be 140ish degrees. The idea behind this is to reduce off cycle heat loss, as the greater the temp difference between the air temp and water temp, the quicker you loss heat. The theory in boiler run time is this, the less times it starts and stops, and the long run times will give you the best efficiency. Hope this answers you questions.

WHAT SETTING DO NEED MY BASEMENT IS MOLDY %SMELLY I HAVE IT SET AT 35

Hi! is it a humidifier or dehumidifier? if you want to remove mold you need a dehumidifier to absorb the moisture on the air. provided that the unit is capable of absorbing the moisture on your basement floor area. because a typical dehumidifier can only accommodate a 21 square meters floor area.
